Hello Rowdy87
Singulair is not an antihistamine. I don't know about the other medication you mentioned though, Sorry
Hope you'll feel better soon.

Aerius is an antihistamine and can be taken when needed. Do you normally take two of these? If so, you can try one but it may not be as effective and it might help ease the dry mouth. You should definately keep taking the singulair even if you feel your allergies are not that bad. Singulair has almost no side effects and is great for allergies.

i used to take 1 aerius and 1 singulair, ond day i didnt take anything and felt better than when i would take both... like eyes hurt alot less in morning when i dont take anything... when i take both my eyes hurt(dry iritated), singulair helps alot my asthma, but i dont know is it possible i makes my eye dry when i sleep cuz i always wake up with dry eyes when i take it with aerius, anyways today ima try only taking 1 singulair and see what happens... 1 aerius works soso, after i took one yesterday my nose became cold a bit...thanks alot!

My son had really bad allergies----to everything, the first 18 months of his life were spent on anti-biotics for sinus infections. When he reached 2 the doctor put him on zyrtex for the summer which helped a lot.....the problem was when he was 2.5 i took him off and he kept getting sick and was back on anti-biotics,then back on allergy meds,it helped but he had no amune system,i took him off all meds, including anti-biotics and he has since built up ammunity to a lot of his allergies. he still gets a runny nose more often than normal, but no sinus infections,i only give him the occasional benedril and he is fine. My step son on the other hand had the same problem,we had his tonsils and adniods removed and his sinus' are better than before but still gets sinus infections---everyone is different i would recommend using over the counter meds only on days you need them.

Hello RoWdy. I also suffer from allergies with the worst symptom being itchy, red eyes. I use Naphcon A sometimes when I go out. It makes my eyes extremely clear, but the after effect is more red than what you started with. And, if you use it too much, your eyes start to become resitant to it. I currently live in NYC, but am considering moving to South Florida where its more humid and I feel that my eyes will better. Where do you live? How long have you been suffering this?

i live in canada quebec... i cannot move to humid place because i have dust mite allergies... one day i put alot of humidity in my room and i woke up really swollen :| ive been suffering this 3 years ago, i keep moving in new apartments and there is so many dust i think this makes the problem worst, i dont think my yorkshire which is always in my moms rooms has any effect, shes washed alot and almost never go outside. today i didnt take any pills (singulair nor aerius) and my eye didnt hurt they were just red;:^) im starting imunotherapy soon, mid feb so i hope it works... are you sure its gonna help moving there,, because if you are allergic to dust mites its not a very good choise i believe...<
