Hello everyone.  I am wondering if I may have a sinus infection or if it is just allergies.  I also do suffer from Crohn's disease therefore my immune system is being immunosupressed.  CD can also cause swelling and problems with all mucosa areas in the body.  My nasal passages have been swollen for a long time too far back to remember the right side more so than the left.  I have really dry sinuses my ENT told me.  I have been getting allergy shots for about 6 months now I also work as a vet tech and I am allergic to animals.  At night I put neosporin inside my nose to help with cuts and dryness.  When I blow my nose during the day at times it is clear others it is white and always has some blood in it.  The blood is sometimes fresh others it is clots.  More recently I have noticed the color is yellow at times but there is still clear mixed in and still with blood.  When I blow my nose it is thick for a while after getting it out I am good for a bit then later it gets stuffy again and the cycle repeats.  I have always had issues with post nasal drip and it also varies from clear and bloody to yellowish and bloody.  I just dont know if I should set up an appointment with my PCP or ENT or wait some time to see how things go.
If anyone has an ideaa if this is allergies or a sinus infection please let me know.

Hi dragonfly :) Yes you should see your doc to have this checked out especially since you are on Remi and Entocort. Any sign of infection should be seen right away for the immune suppressed because unfortunately, things can turn nasty in a blink of an eye. Rule in thumb for allergies and infections - if it's yellow or green, it's an infection. If it's clear, it's probably allergies.
