I hope i can get some help here. I have been to the doctor and no prognosis. I have had sinus, and chest congestion for more than 2 weeks now, with a low energy level. I don't think it is allergies, no sneezing, or itchy/ red eyes. The doctor gave me a steroid shot and put me on an anti-biotic, and Phlemex to break up the mucus, no real relief. I was taking Tylenol cold with no relief. What could cause all this?  I have been unsuccessful with any searches to what i am experiencing.

TIA,
JerryD

:-) JerryD You could have non-allergic Rhinitis. Irritants can cause the congestion in the nose. U may want to see an specialist Allergist. The doctor may do allergy testing. Tell the doctor all your syptoms. I take a great nasal spray that is prescription called Nasonex and it works really good. I have problems with chronic congestion in the nose. Is the air in your home dry? you can try an air purifier those work good. I use on myself. Sinus problems can cause alot of congestion also. Also try Sinus Rinses you can buy a package of that in any drug store. They clean the nasal passages. Keep the nasal passage clear also. Try a over the counter nasal moisturizer nose drops. Like Ocean spray that works good too. Sudafed helps too with sinuses. Hope this helps some for you. Good Luck. Brandi.

My husband had the same thing this winter. It was a virus that lasted 4 weeks. It just hung on and on. Lots of the people he works with and friends had it also. It caused havoc with my asthma that is for sure! Not saying you have this, just telling what we went through.

Thanks for ya'lls input. I went to my regular family doctor today. He seemed concerned that it could be Pneumonia (spelling?), so i went for a chest x-ray. That came back negative for any fluid in the lungs. So it sounds likely Bronchitis. And that is going around here. So, after another $100 of meds (yes with insurance), i now have 3 different meds to take. Advair, Histussin cough syrup, and Levaquin antibiotic. So, i really hope this works. Once again, thanks for the input.

Advair works great! I have been using Advair for years. I noticed changes when I forget a dose. Hope you start to feel Better JerryD. Rest and drink plenty of liquids. Brandi. :-)
