Hi Im new to the site and have found it very informative.
Ive had sinus pain with some pressure mostly on my right side. My sinus ct scan showed no infection, so now Im working on that its allergies.
But affecting mostly one side?
Has anyone experienced it?

How intense is the pain? Is it more of a pressure thing? Sometimes when my allergies act up, my right side seems to get the worse of it. I feel pressure/pain but not severe as well as the typical running nose/stuffy nose deal. Have you tried any sinus relief otc pills yet such as Sudafed or Tylonel Sinus? Oh and welcome to Healingwell :)

hi there, welcome also. i am basically new to this site also. yes i have had this pressure pain thing in my head for a very long time now. somedays are better than others. right now the pain is above the right eyes right side of head into ears. do your ears bother you? my head never feels normal anymore.also my vission goes weird. can that be from sinus? it feels like my eyes are thick or something. cant explain the feeling. do your teeth or gums ever bother you from this. it does me. what do you take for this? thanks for any advice. hope you feel better.

thank you for responding.
Yes, Some days are better than others. For months Ive had pain above right eye, making my eye hurt/feel strange. Early on, my right ear and cheek felt like it was plugged, and my teeth and gums bothered me. The doc gave me Nasarel and that took care of that problem-somewhat.
Since my sinus scan came back clear, the doc has sent me to the opthomalogist and dentist to rule those areas out. All came out ok.
I guess I have allergies, now I have to narrow down which allergen. But strange since this is all new...why now? Maybe becasue im 38. oh well.
Will continue to ease the pain with otc stuff.
Thanks again and feel better! You are not alone.

Allergies can occur at any time and at any age even if there is no family history. The best way to try to find the allergen is allergy testing. This is not 100% accurate but it will give you a head start on where to start. It's funny, after I read your post and responded I had similiar feelings in my right side! lol Maybe I'm getting sympathy pains?? :) Or it's just my allergies again :(

When my allergies and sinus back-ups gang up on me I try the hot/cold approach. I get a hand towel and soak it with very hot water and place it over the offending side of my face until it starts to cool. Then I repeat the process with a bag of frozen peas. The cycle usually lasts about 25 minutes with hot/cold compresses in place for 5 - 7 minute intervals. This must do something to the gunk that causes the pressure because at the end of my hot/cold packs I usually get a total 'gush' of gunk flowing out of my head and almost instant pain relief. Worth a try for anyone with this pressure thing and also is great if you have thyroid or high blood pressure and are limited on which decongestants you can use. No prescription needed! tongue

Hi-

I was looking online for "sinus pressure on the right side" and found this forum. I have had this pain off and on for years. The last 2 days it has been here again. The whole right side of my face, expecially in the corner of my right eye hurt bad and it feels like the pain runs into my ear too. If I hold above my eye or under it it relieves the pressure. Yesterday I took Sudafed sinus and it didnt help so today I took Advil sinus. The hot and cold sounds great but I am work now and this doesnt kick it it seems until im on the road so now I just have to suffer all day :( Ugh its the most annoying pain ever. I went to the DR years ago for this thinking I had a sinus infection but was told I have allergies. He told me to get Claritin but Claritin didnt go well with me (gave me the shakes) I feel all kinds of fluids on the right side and although I didnt have the pressure at the time a couple weeks ago I woke up with a bad case of vertigo to where I couldnt do anything. Im sure this has to do with the fluids in my head :( Went to Urgent care and they told me I have Benign Vertigo, I get the spins sometimes but other times I get them so bad that I have to lay down for most the day. about a month ago I got over a bacterial infection in my head and chest and was on medication. This sinus thing I truly believe is allergies but I have no idea how to get rid of the pain its only on the right side and it starts shortly after I wake up and stays there all day long. At night it feels GREAT to lay on my left side to relieve the pressure but all day at work I have to suffer :(
