How long has this been going on? Does it only happen with chicken and no other foods? Chicken allergies are quite common actually and some people have different degrees of severity of how their body responds to that allergen. You might be developing the early stages of an allergy. If the phlegm bothers you, try not to eat chicken for a while and see if it helps but you should see a doc and be tested if you can so you will know if that is the true cause of the phlegm.
