I am dieting down to around 4% bodyfat which requires at least 2 hours of cardio a day. Between the cardio and the cold air in my state, it is causing some tightness of the chest which I have not experianced in years.

I have some albuteral,  and advair which I just started using,..... and I filled a prescription for 30 days of 10mg singulair (today).

I am going to make an appointment to see my asthma doctor which I usually go to for a yearly checkup, but this time I was wondering what some of the new cutting edge asthma meds were?, that way I could talk to her about them and possibly get some scripted.

Any help and or feedback will be greatly appriciated. :-)

I believe that 4% level of body fat is unhealthy, no matter who you are.

I tend to agree that 4% of body fat is unhealthy also, while I would love to lose some of my Prednisone weight.  I take an injection of Xolair monthly which has worked well for me.  It has kept me out of the ER's and no hospital stays.  It costs about $10,000 per year and insurance companies are paying for it.  It is reserved for severe asthmatics and while I am not a medical professional, it is my opinion that your asthma is not severe if you are able to exercise that much.  You can talk to your doctor about Xolair, but they do blood work and you have to meet certain criteria to be a candidate.

Good luck!

A doctor with the Allergy Research Group in Almeda, Californina has developed a herbal remedy that claims to stamp our the worst asthma cases.

The remedy combines some herbal extracts that have been used in China for decades.

You can research the product at

I do not have a problem with asthma so I have not used his alternative therapy. Check out the web site and you can obtain information that may be of assistance to anyone with asthma.
