Hello all,

I am new to this forum as I suffer from what appears to be social anxiety (but I've never been formally dx)...   The overactive anxiety causes my Raynaud's to go into full force.  This happens whenever I'm in a social setting of people I do not know.  My hands get all purple & white while feeling icy cold and clammy.  Does anyone else have similar situations?  I'm taking 20mg of Fluoxetine (Generic for Prozac) but I'm not sure that is helping.  Does anyone have any other medication(s) that helps specifically with social anxiety?  Are the drugs taken daily as maintenance or as needed? (I never know when my anxiety is going to take off!)  I am going to my PCP tomorrow, but am just looking for suggestions.

At job interviews my hands make the 'hand shake' very uncomfortable.  Plus, I find myself fussing with 'hidding' my hands rather than paying attention to the actual interview.  I've thought about wearing a light pair of gloves, but am afraid of looking 'weird'.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to HW
I am sorry that this causes your Other DD to flare
Do you do any techniques such as Relaxation,Breathing CBT anything to help the a/p

If you are thinking about wearing a set of gloves a light pair of gloves would not look silly and depending on the weather where you are you could just take one off and focus on that for a sec and then try to avoid from there
Here is where I think CBT would help you out .....

I see you are on Prozac can you ask your doc for a benzo to help for fast acting relief ..........something that works to help you like Valium Klonopin or something else along with techniques........
The Raynauds it does effect your hands that bad or is it something else plz I am not being rude only I am not totally familiar with all that D entails .........
Hope to see your post in the am .have a good night

I do take Valium when needed for my a/p
