Again, the health anxiety has hit me again. For the past year I have dealt with female health issues that have had me in the gynecologist office 7 times. Ended up with a cervical pre-cancerous condition that required a freezing of my cervix back on December 21st. My stomach has been a knotted mess since early December. And of course, now the indigestion and heartburn has reared it ugly head again also. Made the mistake yesterday of eating a new thing at a fast food Mexican restaurant here and it had a spicy Ranch sauce in it and I paid for that within 8 hours with the bad heartburn and indigestion and nausea last night and it is still present today but not near as bad. Wondering how long this will take to clear my system. Probably a week or two. No more Mexican for me. Have a followup with my gastro doctor this Thursday but will not be mentioning this issue as it was what I ate that caused it. Cannot tolerate any more tests. Wouldn't be surprised if the gas isn't caused by my anxiety anyway. I could sure use some reassurance. Thanks.

Hey there,
I am sorry your having problems and it sounds like you have more than one reason to have your anxiety on the rise.  As far as the time of digestion of that nasty new food, I would think it should clear your system in 24-48 hours depends on your digestive tract.

We are always here for you so you go right ahead and post whenever you want.  Are you on a med for the anxiety?
I know the trips to the Drs. freak me out too and it is hard to stay calm when you are facing the unknown.
I try very hard to stay in the moment and not let my head keep worrying about what is coming down the road.  I try to rationalize that I have no control over what is going to happen at the Drs. and that is why my anxiety is up.  Does it work for me?  Most of the time.

Please know I am here for you as well as all of the other wonderful members here in A & P
Gentle Hugs

Thanks. I had been on here in the past and am hoping this is not a gallbladder issue. I have had gas on and off for a month as certain gravies and sauces bother me but they usually do not cause the bad indigestion and heartburn down the road. But this yesterday triggered that. I was reading about gallbladder issues on here and read it can cause gas. But mine has been checked twice, including this past February 07 and nothing was wrong there.

You are correct. I have been constantly worrying about what is next down the road. I've got to stop. I was on Xanax short term back in December, but have some sample boxes of Lexapro. I guess I still need this site more than I thought.

Hi there
You had a bout with Anticiapory anxiety last year if I remember correctly and I think you are doing almost the same thing now ......

Before going and getting those sample packs please talk to your Doc just to let him/her know you are taking them again if you decide too okay

The xanax should be helping with some of this BUT CBT is a great tech too .it is a tool to help you change the negative ways of thinking
As well you need to stop the anticiapting or worrying over all that is to come ....IT will happen no doubt how you CHOOSE to deal with it is how the ending goes
Get all your ducks in a row use all the techniques and tools you possibly can and fight this

Support is always here and we will help you in any way we are able to
STAY with us and keep posting

Hi At Wits End..

I have a/p and also GERD. Drs also thought it was my gallbladder and I had 2 test done all showing it was fine and nothing wrong. I was glad to know that. I do have to be careful of what I eat. Plus I dont eat 2 hours or 3 before bed time. I also keep the head of my bed raised 4 to 6 inch. This has helped some. I do notice what I eat gets all going and acting up. If I keep to what I can eat and cut out the stuff I cant and that means what I drink as well it does help. I do know some meds can cause things to get worse so you might want to check on that.

a/p is a hard thing for many of us. But do know if you over think, worry and all the negative thoughts come in, it just makes it worse. I know at times it is hard not to think what is down that road and often have negative thoughts about that. But I know for me I just have to go with the todays. I take each day as it comes. Is hard, yes! not to over think. But have found no matter how bad my thinking starts in I have to get up and move. I have to do something anything to slow my mind down and focus on something else.

Do talk to your Dr about your meds or what you are taking. See what he/she has to say.

Wishing you the best of health and let us know how you are doing.

Take good care.

Mia

I don't like the way my lower pelvic area feels. And I don't know whether it is a bowel problem or feels this way from all the stuff I've had done back in December concerning my female problems. I hate that I have let myself get back in this shape anxiety wise.
