medication question

i am not currently on anxiety medication but at my next appointment i want to ask my doctor if i need them.
does anxiety medication make you gain weight?
i am very focused on staying how i am i dont know if i can handle gaining another 10-15 lbs
i just lost 100.

The anxiety meds as in the benzodiazipines are not known for weight gain.  It is the Antidepressants, the SSRI drugs that are more prone to the weight gain side effect.

HAY Strangelove! Yes some anxiety meds make you gain weigh!!! I believe that is the reason for my wieght gain through the years.But some dont ,I actually lost wieght while taking paxil because it reduced my appetite. Disscus you concerns with your doctor they will usally tell you the ones that cause wieght gain.I understand you want to watch your figure!(lol)It's one thing to be depressed but another to be fat and depressed!!(lol) Good luck!!!!

As posted most AD will cause weight gain ........But it might also not be the case for you persay .....

I agree you should discuss this very important aspect with your doc ........

keep us posted

I take benzo's and I do not gain weight from them only the sundaes and other foods I eat to GAIN weight
'I had to or I was threatened by doc to be tube fed ...NO thanks ....
