I took Paxil...it was working within about 2 weeks.....but then I developed big ole lip and facial swelling, then hives all over and had to switch to Celexa. I think you should feel better quick on it. Tried the Zoloft first, too, but it made me wired and antsy...not good when you're already anxious.

Glad to see you here tonight, been thinking about you and hope all is going okay.

Hey there Girlfriend,
I tried the Paxil years ago and I had the side effect of yawning.....I could not stop yawning and my jaw got sore..............ugh.

Now remember that was me, you may do fine and most of us have the initial side effect to get past.  I pray it works for you.

i took paxil before also. I don't think it was good for me in a couple of different reasons. Plus i had an allergic reaction to it... Hives as well. Everybody is different though so give it a chance. Have you done research about it? There is a lot of information on line.
Are you taking it for just anxiety?? good luck.

Hi Panike!

I just started Paxil 20 mg as well. I actually started on the Paxil 11 days ago, but it's only been 4 days on the full dose. We're pretty much starting at the same time, so maybe we can compare notes. I've been on it in the past too and it seemed to work, so I'm hoping it will this time! If you didn't have any really nasty side effects after the first time you took it, chances are you won't get any. For me the biggest thing was headache and some shakiness/dizziness, which went away after about a week and wasn't anything that interfered with my daily life. I'm not sure if I am seeing any benefits yet, but I hope I will soon! Let me know your experiences with it, I'd like to hear it.

Kitt -- that is too funny you mentioned the yawning and sore jaw. I've complaining for the past couple of days about my sore jaw and my co-workers keep making fun of me for yawning so much. I'm kind of hoping that goes away though...

Oh yes, I meant to mention that I was taking the Paxil at night and experiencing some disrupted sleep and insomnia. I switched to taking it in the morning and that seems to have helped a bit.

Hi A Ridden long time no see i'm glad to hear that you are doing ok on the paxil thats motivation for me! As a matter of fact when i read your post about starting on paxil a couple of weeks ago thats what made me give it a try again being that the zoloft really wasn't doing the trick! I think i can remember yawning alot last time i was on it too, but i may be mistaking its been so long ago! I know my husband started yawning alot after he started taking citaprolam for anxiety and depression! So i guess thats a common thing with these meds! Anyway last night when i took the first one i got sooo dizzy, i had to lay down and it made me sooo sleepy but when i woke up i felt ok didn't notice anything different. It's funny though a couple of people said they broke out in hives while on it.I can remember vividly back in the day itching alot while on the paxil but i never got the hives! So let's keep our fingers crossed! I will keep you posted on my progress and you do the same! GOOD LUCK!!!
