Hello...

New here, but the basics are below....

I am on 120mg Cymbalta daily for depression/anxiety, 1mg of Klonopin and 200mg Trazadone for sleep, and then 1 mg of Xanax as needed for attacks.

I'm getting really sick with my Crohn's, my grandmother just keeps slipping into the Alzheimer's, and my pseudo-dad is dying of pancreatic cancer. To add to that, my horse (who is my BABY) is sick -- with a cold.

Thankfully I have a supportive family/boyfriend, but I'm still having anxiety like CRAZY. Not sleeping, not eating, temp changes, pain, and I know I am driving everyone around me nuts with my crying and attacks.

Any ideas? PLEASE HELP?!

Thanks!

~Sonia~

Hey CareBear, Hi !  This is Kitt.

You are on a good combo...................I was on the Cymbalta at 120mg for awhile but felt over medicated at that high dose so dropped to 60 mg.  I take the Trazodone at 100mg for sleep and I use the Valium as it is long acting and covers the anxiety better as your blood level remains stable.  Klonopin and Xanax are fast acting but you can not maintain a steady level of the med in your blood stream.  You may want to discuss that with your Pdoc.

Another thing that might help as you have the chronic Crohn's problem so your anxiety can bounce around alot depending on what is happening............talk with your Pdoc about a mood stablizer..........there are several choices and your Pdoc should be able to guide you there.

Sometimes coming up with a good mix allows you to cut back on the big doses on one med and choose meds that compliment each other.

Just my 2 cents and remember I am not a professional.

Sorry you have so many things going on and I am so glad to see you here looking for help.

Bless you
Kitt

Thanks for the support. That's what I love about this site -- I've found more help on here than any Dr.'s office! lol.

I will defiantly be talking to my psyc soon about the meds and so on. I see my GI on Tuesday, so maybe some relief there?

I NEED A VACATION FROM LIFE!

Heh. At least I am doing a little better than earlier....

And thanks again for the support!

So I was doing OK..... eyes

.....then the supportive boyfriend turned into a psycho. devil

(Now, you'd THINK that someone who is 20yrs. your senior and who had been handling your anxiety, would be fine when you start crying because your best friend's dog had to be put to sleep because her neurotic husband ran over it, right?

Nope. It's not your dog. It's not your problem. Why are YOU freaking out?! nono

You know what's a great idea?! Let's SCREAM and YELL to make things better, and then BREAK YOUR CELL PHONE in two. )

Needless to say, I'm not still doing OK. I'm kind of blank right now. And single. Ha.

I too have Crohn's diesease. I see that a lot of people are also dealing with anxiety or stress. I too deal with that. I guess it goes hand in hand. I worry a lot and that starts everything rolling. I worry about my illness or just about anything else. My gastro system starts grumbling like crazy when I get the anxiety going. I take xanex to relax and I have an appointment with a p doctor next week to see if there are other meds that may help me out. I am still trying to figure out what to do to get a handle on this.

Hey sweetie, what you just posted scared the heck out of me.............whoa there.  Your boyfriend has an anger management problem too???  Hey that was a great example of verbal abuse and the last thing a person in your position needs is to deal with any abuse. No one should have to deal with abuse from another person.

I would cry over my friends dog too if her bimbo husband ran over it, may he did not see it.  sad   I am not judging but geez, that is sad. Your a friend, you have a right to care and feel bad and your boyfriend should not be putting you down for having feelings.

Do you have a therapist that you can talk to about  some of these issues.
We are here for you so please keep posting and be safe.
Hugs

Kitt

I dont blame you care bear i would be single too after he threw a fit like that! You had every right to be upset about anyone's dog being put to sleep!! I love animals and i would have been sad and crying too!!! I would think he was insane for not caring about the dog.If you have to deal with behavior like that your'e better off single!!! Sorry about your cell phone,i mean i know you of course are more important than the phone but i do know how expensive it can be to replace one!!! Sorry honey i hope things get better!!

Thanks everyone for the support--

I needed to vent and I know that this is a good place to do it. Ya'll are always so helpful. Even if it's just telling me that everything will work itself out. :)

As far as the boyfriend (now EX) is concerned, it sucks that I cared so much. I'm not going to lie and pretend I wasn't in love with him, especially because he accepted and helped with my conditions. But it doesn't justify his actions or words. I am done with him, even if it makes me cry or things like that. I would rather be upset because the loss of him, than the constant worry about what he might do.

I hope all is well with everyone. I slept all day today, and I think I am headed back to bed. But again, thanks for the words of advice and support. Always appreciated!
