badfish,IMHO if you have a new friend that is in your life regularly you should tell her.
As for the people you work with, if it does not interfere with your work, you don't have to go around telling people. It may make you feel uncomfortable as well as them. I would say tell anyone you feel comfortable with sharing your health issues and keep it simple.Remember you have anxiety, it does not have you.Kitt
I think the best thing would be to tell people on a need to know basis. If they are important to you in your life let them know, otherwise don't bother. I think your new girl would respect you for telling her (and might be in a position to help you sometimes). It might be better than making excuses when you feel anxious, she might thinks it's her and get upset..
