Well I went in today and met with ANOTHER family doc as mine is on vacation.  She has put me on Xanax 0.25mg and said I can take that up to 3 times a day.  She also gave me Prozac 10 mg.  I took Prozac for depression about 15 years ago and it helped at that time and I don't remember any stomach upset.  Of course, that was before any of my Crohns surgeries, so I will try it again.  She wants me to try the Xanax for a few days to see how I do on it before starting on the Prozac.  That way I will be able to see if one or the other agrees/disagrees with my stomach.  I also have been given some time off from work to try to get myself back together and will also see a Pdoc next Weds.  The time off alone should be really helpful, so I don't have to worry about that.  Its also short term disability so I don't have to use my sick or vacation days.  So hopefully things will start looking up for me soon.  Thank you all for your support, especially you sweet Kitt, for your kindness and friendship.

Hey Nanners, that is super that you got in to see your physician and you are following up with Pdoc.  I am so proud of you and I know someday you will look back on this as just a bump in the road and you got over it.

The time off is a wonderful idea and you know where I am anytime you need me.
Hugs my friend
Kitt

Nanners, you really deserve this time off and I hope it helps you get past this (mean, nasty, smelly!) anxiety...I find xanax really helps with me, it helps with panic and IBS (which is a far cry from Crohns I know).
Thinking happy thoughts for you nanners, take care sweetie xxx
I alone can do this, but I cannot do it alone.

Between the Xanax and the time off I am actually doing much better. I only take the Xanax in the mornings and at bedtime and it has been helping alot. Its nice to wake up in the morning not feeling all in a twitter. I am leaving for my trip to Mexico tomorrow and actually don't feel any anxiety about it at this time. Phew!!! I think all will be okay as long as I keep a close watch on my diet. Already told hubby, remember he must help me to keep on schedule with my diet and if I can do that I think all will be okay. Just fyi for those who don't know I have Crohns disease and must eat every 2 hours or so or else I get all nauseous etc. But I really think the Xanax is doing what its supposed to. Thanks all for your loving support.

P.S. Is it just me or are we seeing more Crohns people posting on the anxiety board? I am not surprised with this stupid disease, its a difficult disease to live with.
