Hello all. I have terrible health anxiety and I am always checking my pulse. The other day it seemed fast and today it seems slow. Please tell me this is normal. I am freaking out and get very scared. Please don't say anything to scare me. Thank you friends.

Pulse rate can vary loads depending on wht ur doing or how ur feeling wen u take it. If u take wen ur really relaxed it wil be really slow, if u take it wen ur doing exercise or feeling anxious it wil alot faster. Because pulse can vary depending on ur mood its natural to different pulse rates day to day, hope this helps

Hi Greyhound

Being anxious will make your pulse rate high. It is also the anxiety that is causing you to take your pulse that often. I bet sometimes you will think you dont feel any and think something is really wrong then that anxiety makes your heart beat faster. As badfish says it will vary depending on what you are doing. When you are more relaxed it will be slower.

Checking our pulses is a common anxiety behavior. Work on trying to stop it. I used to do it all the time. OF course, if you think you have a physical heart arrythmia, go to get checked by a physician and maybe an EKG will reassure you.
My pulse always varies, sometimes you skip beats, sometimes it bounds(for me it is anxiety fight or flight reaction, catecholamine release) and not organic. So you have to decide where you fit into all this. REmember if you are checking, you are alive!

Hey there..........yes it is normal to have a variable in your pulse rate.  So try not to take it and analyze it.  The anxiety is sure to raise it.
You heart will be fine and so will you, just stay in the moment and know we care about you.  Keep posting as we are here for you.

I think you remind me of myself. Your funny. I like when you said don't tell me anything to scare me. HAHA I am always checking my heart rate too and sometimes its slow and i think it is too slow and scare myself and other days its too fast. Sometimes I got scared and felt like I had no beat but thats silly cause i would not be standing now would I . Hope you feel better. I think it is very normal.

I check my pulse and put my hand on my chest to see if my heart is beating too sometimes.Like everyone else said i think that is normal for anxiety suffers. Like someone else said above sometimes it feels like my pulse is beating too fast or too slow and sometimes it gets really scary when i think i dont feel it at all. Then i start feeling it because i get scared and it elevates!

You are going to be just fine. ITs very normal. Dont get upset. Try not to think on it too much. I need to try not to check mine as much either. Take care and good luck with everything.
