Ok i dnt if ppl remember but i posteed awhile bck saying ow i kept getting these weird jerks n i thouht they were side effect of citaleopram. Well i spoke to Doc about it and she said she never heard of citealopram being associated wiv side effects like tht. So i did my wn reasearch on these i found their called myloclonic jerks. The description i found matches wht i hav exactly (i.e they only hapen wen im falling asleep) wht worries me is their associated wiv a widerange of diff diseases incuding lupus which runs in my family. On top of tht increased "5HT" (basically serotonin) is supposed to relieve symptoms so the fact im on SSRI's and am getting is grave concern to me. Im not 1 for health anxiety's but i hav to admit this one has got me. Has any1 else experienced random twitches wen trying to fall asleep on citalopram. The weird thing is im not having anxiety attack bout this im jus genuinly concerned.

I had a very similar problem - only in bed when trying to fall asleep -that turned out to be thyroid deficiency. Have you had your thyroid checked?

Tht wht my anxiety disorder was originally diagnosed as but tests proved negative. I ve done some more research it turns out in some cases these jerks (aka hypnic jerks) in some cases can be aggravated by doses of 5HT. So im bck wher i started at the beginning, these are most likely a side effect of citalopram not a sign of an underlying prob. But if tht is the case there must be other ppl out ther wiv the same thing. Really dnt kno wht to think nemore.
