I've been having this reoccuring prickly, tight, numb pain in the front of my thighs. Actually,it's kind of all over my legs at this point and down my back, but it's not like the sciatica I had years ago. I am hoping it's just a pinched nerve, but I'm so scared I'm going to end up having MS (my fear years) or some neurological disease.  Has anyone else had this symptom? How do I stay calm during my dr's visit? I finally got up the nerve and time to call him yesterday afternoon and he was gone for the day. Now I have to start all over. I know my doc can just make an assessment and refer me to someone else, but does anyone know what types of things he'll ask and check for so I can be prepared and give him helpful answers and not PANIC!? TIA!

I would suggest that you write everything down that you are experiencing, even if it sounds trivial at the time, little things can be very important, even if it doesn't sound like it to you at the time. So write everything down so that you make sure that you cover everything that is happening.

Try to relax, I am sure that it is a pinched nerve. There are good tests for MS now, so if you have that they will know. What is your age? I ask because MS strikes when you are in your 20's and 30's. But like I say, relax and write a list of everything that is happening so if you do get anxious, you can still let him know what is going on.

I am happy that you are going to the doctor soon with this. It could be something as simple as circulation.

I wish you the best with this situation.

hugs, Karen

Tia,

Please don't panic!!  Breathe in, breathe out.  You do need to see your doctor.  Karen is right, this could be a pinched nerve or even stress.  I am not discounting your fears at all.  But please remember that MS is not a common disease.

I have lived with MS for two years now. It has not been a piece of cake but I can honestly say, life is good!!!  I have my challenges but I also have my blessings too.

I am thinking of you.  Take good care.

Good Morning Paniccu

IMHO, it seems to me like you need a work up to identify what is causing the problem. Be prepared to tell your physician your family history, medications your on, the onset, and duration of the numbness and pain. Doe the numbness and pain bother you most when sitting down or standing ? What makes it better and what makes it worse?

Any other physical or mental stress going on in your life right now besides this concern?

You have posted you had sciatica nerve pain in the past and this does not seem the same. There are many things that could cause these sx and I am not a professional and don't want to guess.  I am just glad your going to seek help.  ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

When you go to the Doctors, keep in mind your there to find out what is wrong and the Doctor is working for you and with you. Take deep breaths and write down your notes about how you have been feeling and questions you have.

You will do well and please keep posting as we need you here and the members are all here to support you.

Tia
Glad you posted
I am sure that you will find that it may be something like stress or anxiety ...I am NOT a doc so I cannot tell you for sure ...but I do know that A/P can and will do so many things to your body ......
Many here will agree I am sure that things have happened to them due to A/P ...NOW I am not saying it is DEFINITELY a/p related just a thought thrown out there for you .......yes do make sure whatever you feel and how it feels is written down for you to make sure your doc gets the FULL pic of what is going on...

Think back on the last few days and see if you may have done something, slept the wrong way or lifted something...... you know that might have attributed to this .......

I do really wish you all the best........my thoughts and prayers are with you sweetie

Plz let us know what is said okay
Take care and know we will be waiting to hear from you

Thanks for all of your encouragement. I really appreciate it. I did call the doctor's office and he thinks that it is nerve related. He told me that if it is still causing me pain to call again next week. I am marking my calendar to call first thing in the morning and insist on an appt if I am still in pain. I hope he's right! I guess I worry about MS we have one of the highest concentrations of MS in my city. Also I am 39, so just about the right age to get it. Of course I've been worrying about having it since I had sciatica, which came about right around the time I started getting panic attacks. If anyone would understand, you all would. Thanks for listening!
