do you have to take both types of meds or can you just take klonopin for anxiety?

IT is up to your doc whether he / she wants you on an antidepressant and a benzo .....
We cannot really give you advice about what meds to ask for specifically

For me I do not take any antidepressants anymore but many have great success with them

I personally take both and they work good for me.  But as Lyn said, you really need to discuss this with your doc.  We can only give you our own opinion and personal experience as we are not qualified medical professionals.  Please be sure to give your doc a call about this and the other medication questions you have.  Let us know how things go for you.
