Good Morning,It feels to me like your oral surgeon has chosen a good medication pre-dental procedure. I would not worry about taking it as you say if it helps. It is prescribed for anxiety and is one of many in the Benzodiazepine class.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I did take the diazepam before the treatment and it really helped me.
I certainly didn't have a panick attack. I was quite anxious, but nothing like the time before.

Darren,I am glad the Valium worked for you as well. I always have the nitrous oxide, I know just like the little kids but hey we do what we have to when anxious. My dentist always laughs and says we will give the the two martini dose. Strawberry flavored.
