Yes, I feel that way quite often... today especially. I usually start out OK in the morning and then get progressively worse as the day wears on.

Welcome to HealingWell and the A & P Forum. You have come to the right place to find support for your Anxiety disorder.  You will find the members warm and caring so please browse the forums and you will see lots of people with upset stomachs.

Anxiety is unexpected and often repeated episodes of intense fear accompanied by multiple symptoms that may include abdominal distress.

Have you seen your physician about your stomach problems and been dx with Anxiety/Panic?

I would  strongly suggest a good medical screening exam to make sure you are not dealing with some kind of stomach problem versus anxiety.

Again a warm welcome to HealingWell.

Kitt has some good points for you. But I did want you to know that is exactly how my anxiety manifests itself, I get really sick to my stomach. Actually going thru it again today. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

Hi MrsOBrien,

First of all, welcome to the Healing Well family.  As Kitt has said, the members here are wonderful people - warm, caring, and very supportive; I hope you get the same feeling.

It sure sounds like you are dealing with anxiety, but if you haven't already, you really should see a doctor to rule out any possible medical problems and get the actual anxiety diagnosis if that's what the problem is.  You may need to consider some type of med to help you with the anxiety, but again, that's an issue to discuss with your doc.  Make sure to ask lots of questions so that you can make an informed decision about treatment - no matter what the diagnosis is, asking questions is always the best thing.  It's the only way to be able to make a good decision.

Please keep posting and let us know how things are going.  Again, welcome to Healing Well!!  You have found a great place for help and support.

Take care,

Oh yes Mrs.OB i get that all the time! Everytime i have a panic attack which is sometimes several times a day i get sick at the stomache.I think it's because they scare me sooo bad! Although i've been having P/A for many years sometimes when i have one i still feel like it's the first time because it still scares me stiff! Literally stiff! And i get the nervous stomache and everything associated with nervous stomache if you know what i mean!

Welcome Mrs O'Brien, I've had IBS (grumpy bowel syndrome) for about three years now and it makes me (to put it nicely) have things come out all over the place!! Panic always makes me sick and possibly not be able to eat for days...anxiety will give me D (can't spell it) and nausea.  I struggle to keep weight on and get constant criticism from people who don't have anxiety.
It's not fun is it? I reccomend eating small amounts of food you LOVE when (and if) you ever feel hungry.  I keep cheese, peanut butter and chocolate close to hand in case it happens (hunger)..all the best to you and keep us posted Mrs O'Brien
