hey,
I had been posting on the bipolar forum, my Drs are not sure that I am bipolar, but there is no question about my anxiety.
All of my emotions stem from my anxiety. I have always been shy so my biggest problem is my social anxiety. Isolating myself has led to severe depression, which has led to me cutting myself. My depression and anxiety also have a large impact on my appetite; I weigh 96 lbs (I'm 5'4).
I have taken Klonopin for about four years now. Recently I went off most of my medication except for Klonopin and Adderall for ADHD (which has a lot to do with my low weight)

The panic attacks I experienced in high school have just intensified now that I am a sophomore in college.

And the list goes on...

Evelyn, welcome to the anxiety/panic forum, I really hope you like it here.  As you probably know we are very supportive at HW. It sounds like you are having a rough time of it at the moment with many things going on..Do you have one doctor who has given you these meds/diagnosis or a few?  Sometimes our doctors can give us lots of good advice..and sometimes they get it wrong or muddled up. Bless their thermometers!

I'm so sorry that you are suffering from so much anxiety and depression and that your weight is dropping (that's a tough combination)...social anxiety can be really lonely, and I know that quite a few people on this site suffer from it and will be able to give you some advice.

I'm worried about your reference to self harm, do you discuss this with your doc or maybe a family member or friend?? It really is dangerous and can lead to a lot worse..it's a horrible place to be so anxious and upset that you feel you need to resort to this.

When did all this start to happen in your life?? Are you getting any counselling or just the meds?? (Sorry about all the Q's I just want to help out). My heart goes out to you Evelyn..hang in there and we will support and help you.

(((big, welcoming hugs))

Hi Evelyn,

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Healing Well; we are very happy that you have found us and have decided to join HW.  The family here are so very supportive, caring and helpful - I love to come here to help others but also to post what I am dealing with as I know that I will get some support and advice from the wonderful members.

I am very sorry to hear that you are going through such a tough time, but I can relate to a lot of what you are dealing with.  I have been diagnosed with Bipolar as well A/P; it's a tough combination.  It was only about 9 months ago that I was diagnosed with any of these but I can look back at my life and see all the signs and it sure explains a lot for me.  I have also been losing weight recently, but I can stand to lose many more - so it's not an issue for me right now.  But it really sounds like it's an issue for you.  I hope you don't lose any more weight.

As Meg said, I am also worried about the self-harm; have you spoken with anybody about this?  Does your doctor know that you have stopped the meds?  If not, you should always consult your doctor about stopping meds, as it is usually needed that you gradually taper off them to avoid or reduce any withdrawal symptoms.  If you aren't talking to anyone about what you are currently going through, please strongly consider doing this as it may be of great help to you.

Please keep posting to let us know how you are doing so that we can continue to help and support you through this tough time.  That's what we are here for.

Take care,
Wen
