Has anyone heard or tried taking Mag Glycinate to treat their panic attacks?
My Lyme dr reccommended I try this to lower my awful anxiety.

I did a lot of reading up on it and saw that humans are mostly depleted of Mag. Gly when they are anxious. stressed or don't eat well.

Here's a good site on it.

Any info would be great. Thanks

Hey there I have used it and I think it does help but my problem is being consistent in taking it. I take so many meds I feel ready for a nursing home on a bad day.

Maybe someone else has tried it also.

Hugs to you
Kitt

Peacesoul,

I'm so glad you post all this information about natural and homeopathic treatments. I would never know about them otherwise. Thanks!

By the way, I've never used magnesium glycinate. Right now, I'm working on using supplements to help some other health issues though (high cholesterol, fatigue from reflux meds, etc.).

Welcome, happy to help
I'm a huge believer in treating the entire body as a whole and not just the symptom of anxiety.
It's easier to just pop and pill and hope for the best, but it never lasts. If we can strengthen the body as a whole, I believe anxiety/depression can be eliminated.

I've had horrible anxiety for over 20 years, was housebound for 7 months along with all the other fun stuff that comes with anxiety. I had dr's pushing pills on me for years. I finally caved and took xanax. Sure it worked, but for a short time. When I finally changed my diet and joined a gym and started suppliments, my anxiety was gone by about 95%.
It's back now with a vengance because I'm fighting lyme disease, so I'm back on the wagon looking for alternatives to harming my body with meds.

That's not to say others on meds should not be on them, but they should also be looking at alternatives if they really want to get over this.

I'll keep posting what I find and posting my results with certain things.

Percy, what suppps do you take now?

Peacesoul,

Right now, I'm just trying to develop the daily habit of taking high-level multivitamins for the biggest goal. Because I've read in many sources that my reflux medication can interfere with the absorption of iron and vitamin B12 in particular, I'm trying to be extra careful about taking them diligently. The last two times I've forgotten, I ended up being so exhausted by midday that I had to skip out on a task. In fact, today was one of those occasions.

I also take fish oil because my dad has had a lot of success keeping high cholesterol under control with it, and I inherited that condition from him. Acidophilus is also on the list, more because of chronic yeast than because of the reflux, but it should help both issues.

Once I reestablish the pattern of taking supplements, garlic is the next thing to reinstitute. I like how I feel better about my circulation when I'm on it. Plus it's claimed to have benefit to the immune system. The magnesium sounds like a good thing to explore as well, but I know I have to take adding items to the list a bit at a time if I want the good habits to form and be lasting.

Many years ago, I took several Bach flower extracts. That's been ages, though, and I've moved away from the recommending doctor in the meanwhile. I don't recall them helping much (depression), but that may be because he wasn't as knowledgable about them as he wanted to appear. If I try them again, it will be with a homeopath who knows a lot more about them, but given my past experience, I don't really think they're for me.

What all do you use?

Percy, Candida (yeast) causes horrible panic attacks along with other horrible symtpoms that resemble other illnesses.
Many people think they are ill when in fact all they have is yeast overgrowth (I'll make a thread about yeast when I have time)

Our diets, meds and stress create so much yeast in our bodies, making us feel sick and causing intense anxiety.
The probiotics is a must for ANYONE taking any meds, you can also take apple cider vinegar and olive leaf extract.
I was on antibiotics for months to treat my lyme disease, and I had to keep my yeast under control. I used the things I mentioned here and they all worked.

Apple cider Vinegar also helps with anxiety. It has  a high content of vitamins (especially potassium which anxiety sufferers so lack due to the constant strain on the body).

Apple Cider Vinegar cannot be take in pill form. It's best taken in liquid. Organic, unpastorized and with "mother" in it. This can be found at most good grocery stores. Also ACV (apple cider vin) will not cause more acid in the stomach, as some people believe, it actually neutralizes it. I take mine in a shot glass with some organic apple juice. It tastes awful, but when you do it in a shot, it goes down quick AND you get used to the taste after a while.

Here is some good info on ACV

Hey there, I am slow, Lyn hit the nail on the head, I have so many meds that I take the supplement hit and miss.  I know it would benefit me if I took it regularly.
I will commit to taking it daily.

Now someone flip me a chip.  LOL

Hugs
