Remeron is an sedating anti-depressant.  It's side effects are sleeponess and weight.  It is condered  It may be better than celexa and zoloft (top fanked new drugs) in fighting depression.  This drug is also ussed for treating anxiety.  A lot of doctors will start tou on remeron and then begin adding symtom drugs.  Like if you are excessivly tired most will prescribe a stimulant/agitated maybe buspar or a small amount of a benzo.
Give the drug some time, and rest assured that in medical community is well thought of as first line traeatment.

Dear Bulldog,

I take Cymbalta for depression and anxiety and my Pdoc uses Trazadone for sleep. 100mg works well for me.  I also take my Cymbalta in morning and at bedtime.

I do not have much input on Remeron.  I am sure some of the members will be along.

Take care and keep posting.

No remeron info from me, I'm afraid. I really hope your doctor is able to find a combination that works well for you. I know you've been struggling lately with trying out a lot of new medications.
Let's pray that this is the one that finally does the trick.

Get some well-deserved rest, and let us know how things turn out for you.

Hey Bulldog_

I've been taking remeron for about 9 months. I really like it. It DOES make you crave carbs and sweets, and i did gain about 15-20 pounds. The good news is, i lost almost all of it by eating better (i had to cut out the fatty and fried foods I was eating everyday -- thats bad for me anyways). It did help me sleep a lot at first, but now its to a lesser degree, but still helps for sure. I was on Zoloft before, and i really do like this drug better. I feel more present :) And there are no sexual side effects.

If tonight is your first time taking it, expect it to kick your butt either tonight or tomorrow night. And keep in mind the sedation will become less over time. Some people it effects more than others. I was fine on it.
