Umm....I like dirt-bike riding. I love tricks, being in the air, and going fast! I love riding. Playing sports is really fun for me. Tennis, soccer, basketball, football, baseball, golf, anything! Its hard with my Fibro, but Im stubborn and refuse to give things up! I also like to read, outside. I love being outside because I find nature to be most relaxing. I love being on the beach or in the ocean. Trips cause me anxiety, but once I am there I find things to do. Watching my favorite tv shows...cleaning. Cleaning calms me for some reason...

Machelle, great topic.   I love to drive my brand new, just picked up today 2008 Dodge Caliber and of course it is inferno red.  I love red.  Yes I took the plunge, spent some money on me. I have named it Lil Red.  Yes I name my cars too  :)

I also love to see my granddaughters, ride my Harley and dance to the music.  I love this forum.

lol Kitt...of course, I will come clean for you! (or I would love too!) I enjoy cleaning because it gives me something to do. Its relaxing for me. And, when Im nervous or worried, it calms me. Plus, my ocd allows me to keep things straight, neat, and even! lol Plus, when Im done, things look so nice, I just love to make things look good! Like, Im sure your car looks good! Sounds nice! Its cool, bwt, my mom drives a school bus, her first one we named Miss Daisy...all the kids still call her that! We got a new bus this year, I named it Miss Rosie! So, all the kids call them both by their names! lol Ooo I love riding motorcycles!

Things that take me away from my anxiety..hmmm, well I guess the most effective things are hard work, friends and family, laughter, gardening, jigsaws, study, music, drawing, trout fishing...and of course the occasional dose of 'retail therapy' lol.

Hey, I like the "Retail therapy", now I have a bonafide excuse. devil

TeNNiS,  I love the school bus naming, what a hoot. How fun for the kids that ride the bus.

I hate to clean as I would rather be reading or on the computer but I also dislike the idea that it needs cleaning so the job gets done.  It was much more fun when my kids lived at home and they helped.

Come on all, share................be square, whatever.

Oh, yes!

The smell of freshly mown hay, the sound of rain, eating Mexican food, reading, cuddling with the kitties. Looking at a colorful sunset, watching lightning, observing wild animals. Sitting on the back porch in the dark on a summer night and listening to the crickets and watching lightning bugs. Watching big fluffy snow fall in the winter. Driving with the window open and the music on down the open highway.

Great thread, machelle!

Getting out in the woods, looking for mushrooms, looking for rocks ( I am a rock hound ), painting, drawing, listening to music and gardening.

There may be more, but isn't it lovely to know that we do have these prescious things that soothe us?

Hugs to all, Karen

Hey I have never looked for mushrooms but have picked berries by the side of the road.

I love to go to Lake Superior and stay in hotel right on the lake, the waves crashing on the rocks, now that will lull you to sleep.

Great thread..................... yeah

Great thread topic

Ok, this is going to make me sound girly, but shoe shopping is my "xanax". Shoe shopping cures every disease on the planet.

I also love putting laundry out on the line.
And just recently taken up cooking. Cooking gets my mind off everything.

I also love driving my fast sports car REALLY fast, Love loud metal music and hanging out with my cats.
Swimming is another way I relax and weight lifting.

But nothing beats shoe shopping ;-)

Is it weird that when I saw this post I started singing (in my head, I am only a rockstar alone and in my car...LOL) the hewy lewis and the news song from back to the future movies. "Take me away, I don't mind, you just got to promise me I'll be back in time"

Great topic.

The things that take me away are:

gardening
sewing
reading
music
the smell of freshly mown grass
being outside (except in the winter, then I hibernate)
Gardening and sewing in particular can take me away for hours at a time without even realizing it.

Hey all!
I also really love hearing ocean waves, they calm me. But the most relaxing thing to me is being somwhere very familiar, like home with the people I love. Im only 12 years old (I know, Im young to have a panic disorder) but I find school calming, I used to think school was boring but now its my key to happiness. It keeps me busy which keeps me from thinking bad thoughts. But a warm shower or bath never hurts, that usually helps me breath easier. I also agree with peacesoul, shoe shoping can fix anything. Somtimes just talking to one of your crazist friends can work wonders
I love hearing all your thoughts so pls keep writing,
Brenna

Brenna,

Hear, hear! Count me in on talking with crazy friends! I have a couple of girlfriends from my college days that I still keep in touch with, and we will usually convulse in schoolgirl giggles about something before the night's over.

Book shopping is my xanax (and my klonopin, and ativan, and ...). I knew I was in trouble the one and only time I had a panic attack in a book store!

Brenna, you go girl. I future shoe addict I see...haha!

You are young to have panic but you know what, obviously smart and wise enough to talk about it at such a young age that you know what; I bet ALL MY SHOES you will over come this.
Hang tough and keep learning about your condition.

It's SO GREAT that you love school. Keep up the good work

Navy............I am with you.

I come home in the morning light,
My mother says "When you gonna live your life right?"
Oh,mother,dear,
We're not the fortunate ones,
And girls,
They wanna have fu-un.
Oh,girls,
Just wanna have fun.

Brenna,
Talking with friends is fun, to laugh at our silly times together and when I say something silly one of my friends might say, Oh your crazy.  My answer now days is Yes I am!  Then we laugh about that.
Hang in there hun and keep on looking for the good times in each day.
Hugs

Kitt

Ok, i'll join in on the fun.

Riding my bicycle, taking photos of birds (hawks and ravens are my favorite), going to the beach, hanging out with my friends, reading sometimes helps, archery (though its been a while since i've done that), cleaning, Watching funny movies!, talking to my mom on the phone, MUSIC is a life saver, going to my psychiatrist (most of the time, sometimes not :), Painting, drinking tea, saving money (like adding money to my savings account always brings a sense of security)... And writing on this forum helps me so much.

Cool Topic....

Mine are:  Figure Ice Skating (although it has been way too long).  I used to take lessons and give lessons in a public club as a child and until I was 15 years old.  I always had a dream of being the next Dorothy Hamil, so I like to get out for the last late night session on the rink where not many people are around and glide, turn, jump (um..then fall) and pretend.  I honestly can feel my skate becoming one with the ice and its like nothing can touch me.  I'm in my own private moment - that of course needs music too!

Also, gardening as I am now up to 18 flower plants and have just started working on growing vegetables from seed.

Last, I love writing and when I finally get a good and firm concentration going, hours can fly!
