Well, my first ever appointment with a doctor where I'm going to be talking about my anxiety.

The ironic thing is that I'm getting anxious about it! Though this sick feeling in my stomach makes me all the more determined to defeat it. I think I deserve a much better state of health than this!

Hi There,

I know that by the time you read this, your appointment will probably be over.  But I wanted to wish you well and having anxiety about this sort of thing is not unusual - so don't think that you are the only one, because you aren't.  Though it will be difficult over time, the therapy will be the best thing for you as you'll be able to get your feelings out in the open in a safe environment.  I know you will do well and I wish you well.  Let us know how it goes.

Take care,
Wen

Good Morning and You are so right, you deserve a better quality of life then living in anxiety.  I am so glad to hear you are going to the doctor.  I know how scary it feels but once you get there you just say it like it is.  Don't hold back.

Remember we are all here supporting you.

Make yourself list of things you feel like talking to doc ,as this is intro with new doc.In anxious times we tend to forget our main issues so it might help.

We stand by you so don't worry !!

Good luck !

Thank you all.

My doc decided to refer me for CBT rather than prescribe meds. I'm ok with this because on the whole I'm not crippled with anxiety...I can leave the house, I can talk to people, I can do most things without too much hesitation. It's just certain situations such as being in crowds and large groups of people which I really struggle with. I hope to learn how to deal with such situations and be a stronger person.

When I was at university I could barely walk to the kitchen without panicking about bumping into someone and I used to struggle with walking into the centre of my local town. I'm quite proud that I've managed to overcome this now and even find myself being a lot more chatty with people. It's the bits inbetween me being stable like that which are truly awful and I don't want to experience them anymore!

Hey,

I'm really glad things went well for you.  CBT is a really, really wonderful tool for battling anxiety and I use it all the time to help me get through things.  I'm crossing my fingers and toes and believeing that this will help you out a great deal, please let us all know how it goes, I would love to hear!

I am so glad you are going to do CBT.  I have yet to hear anyone that did not think it was simply wonderful.  I know it takes hard work but I believe as you said it is a good place for you at this time.

I wish you peace.
