I am 54 yrs old have sufferred with anxiety and panic for more than 30 plus yrs

I do use self help techniques such as CBT, Relaxation in conjuction with my meds

Lil sis you just reminded me ( fibro fog) that I take trazadone too

KNOW you are not alone anynore
WE are not professionals and cannot give medical advice as to what you should take or shouldnt take but we sure WILL SUPPORT you and help any way we can

Hello,
I am Kitt. I live in the Midwest and I am older then Lyn lol, Mother of 4 and gradmother to 7.

I was Dx with A & P 26 years ago and I take Cymbalta, Trazadone and Valium for my A & P Meds.

I also have GERD, L5-S1 disc herniation, IBS, and Raynaud's phenomenon.

I have a wonderful hubby who is blessed with Crohn's Disease . I say blessed as he is one of the fortunate ones to have long periods of time where he has not had any serious problems from the Crohn's. He has had 3 major surgeris but in between he has done well.

I love to read, ride my motorcycle, travel and most of all I love to help others and as a moderator for HealingWell I feel I am supporting many wonderful members in need of help. It also gives me satisfaction to come here daily and read how well the members are doing.

I truly believe HealingWell is the best support site on the Web and the members are amazing.

Did I mention I love Country Music..........Well that's my story and I am stincking to it.

Hi I am new around here (I usually post on the Lyme boards). I have suffered with A & P since I was at least 14 and I am currently 35 - so a LONG time! It has controlled the majority of my life and dictated the majority of my decisions. I have tried over 10-15 different meds but usually cannot handle the side effects or had no relief. Currently I am on Rispedal and have Xanax for emergency purposes (very rarely take b/c scared of side effects and becoming addicted - another problem right?!?!) for the A & P. I take many other meds for other conditions as I also suffer from chronic Lyme Disease. Another problem for me lately that is not helping is I have been having alot of intestinal issues (don't know if it is due to the years of antibiotics I have put my body through for treatment) going to doctors over the next few weeks to try to figure it all out, but this is adding to my anxiety like crazy. I have always had extreme nausea issues, but never the lower half!

I would like to try a new doc and possible try new meds for the panic, but there is so much other stuff going on with my health that i need to take care of first.

Happy to be here and I love Healing Well - I really believe this place has already helped me so much with my Lyme that I decided to start hoping around to the other "boards".

Blessings,
Leah

Hello all,

I'm Wen and I'm one of the moderators here on the A/P forum. I live in New Hampshire, have three children ages 22, 15, and 13 - two boys, one girl. I love being here at Healing Well as I love helping others and being a moderator helps me to do that. Healing Well is the best site on the web for help, support, guidance, and caring. The members are great! I just can't say enough good things about this site.

I have lived with anxiety and panic since my teens and am now 43, so it's been a long, long time for this. Over the last few years, I have dealt with many issues with my now 15 year-old son. I had to admit him to psych wards 4 times, took him to court for setting a fire in my house and he was put into placement for 2 years. He is now home full time and doing pretty well.

Because of all of this, I had a nervous breakdown last July and admitted myself to a psych ward for treatment because I knew I was not going to be around much longer if I didn't do something. So that was the choice I made. I was then diagnosed with A/P, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Social Phobia, Agoraphobia. I also have a host of other medical illnesses which you will see in my signature. These diagnoses explain an awful lot of my life and all the decisions (good and bad) I have made over the years. Because I was so depressed I was then admitted again in November and again in March. I am now on different meds that seem to be working pretty well right now. I am currently on Abilify, Lamictal, and Valium for the mental health issues and a bunch of others for the medical issues.

I love to garden, sew, read and listen to music. I am having great fun now in my flower gardens and it's great therapy for me and reduces my anxiety level a great deal.

So that's my story (the short version any way - LOL).

Hope to hear from more newbies and vets.

Take care to all,
Wen

HI I am quietpain, or Joann in "real life."  I have a variant of atypical bipolar, severe major deppression. generalized aniety disorder, complex PTSD, and psychotic features resembling schizoaffective disorder (but never being stable I cannot be diagnosed as such even though I have psychotic features regarless of the antipsychotics used.)  I lsot my side vision due to taking risperdal and developing a prolactnoma.  Finally I have hypothyroidism.  I also have a problem with uterine fibroids and chronic fainting spells (I just collapse and while I am out my body shakes violently.)  Right now because of the fainting I also have a broken ankle.

I awas first hospitalized at 13, but depression and halucinations started at about 5 or 6.  I am both a rape survivor and spent about 3 months were I was connected with a drug runner who abused me, as did his "friends."  The abuse was verbal, physical, & sexual.  I was burnt, tied up gang raped and as well other things only we know about (trhey are too disgusting to talk about.  I was lucky that they let me go  becuase they thought I was crazy.  I couldn't leave without permisssion.  He even took me to my parents. and kept coming to the house saying that something was wrong and that he though I was going to kill myself.  I tried to and then they put me away for four months.  At 14 I had my first baby.  At 16 still finished high school teo years early.  My IQ, as tested in the hospital, is 153 so I was involved in a special program and did well throughout the whole nightmare.  In my third year of college, I developed into the most severe point in my illness and spent the next 4 years in the hospitals more than out.  The State tried to commmit me; my husband and father got lawyers and I had to move to live at my parents home since my mother didn't work and my father was a doctor.  Then I had baby number two.  Now I am 30.  My kids are 16 and 8.  I've been married for 15 years.  I will never work.  I will never not need meds.

I take:
vyvanse 100, parnate 120, librium 80-160, risperdal 6, zyprexa 10, haldol 2,  lexapro 5, topamax 100, desryl 300, clonodine .02, synthroid .125, and benedryl 600

I'm Paulos, 22 years old, all my problems really started from boozing.. panic disorder/anxiety... always had a lot of social anxiety, as for me with medications they do nothing but give me bad side effects, I've been on em for like 1 year and 2+ months, ... ain't worth it anymore lost my passions of life, can't really focus well anymore... going off Lamictal right now, and basically I also suffer from depression, but I try to get by... not to mention insecurity issues... if I had only never picked up that first bottle.

Hi there..I am a Moderator for A/P and Depression. My name is Maree. I am 46 years old and have suffered from A/P for about 23 years with the occasional dose of Depression thrown in for good measure eyes

I live in New Zealand. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, 2 grown up children, 3 grown up step children and 3 grandchildren..love them all - am sooo lucky :-)

I work in horticulture (so much easier working with trees) - in fact doing my 'apprenticeship' in my old age - but spent most of my working life as a Nurse Aide.

HW has been a safe haven for me - it's like so nice to come here and know that there will be someone to talk to when times get tough..and being able to help others in their time of need is just an added bonus...I answer posts here 'straight from the heart' as Kitt pointed out not so long ago (she was right on the button - as usual :-) )

At present I am not taking any fulltime meds - which is a new concept for me..and kinda scary at times...but I do have Lorazapam for 'those' times when things get a bit much!

Maree (Sista J.) - thanx Lynn xoxo

Dear Gramps,

You cannot keep a good man down, and I can tell your a good man. This Harley Lady is 62 years old and I have been riding on the back of a Harley since I was 15. I finally decided I wanted to learn to ride so 4 years ago my daughter and I went to classes. I was scared to death to put both feet up.................Yikes, but I did it and I made the best big circles you ever saw, but I kept going as I was scared to stop. LMBO.

I understand your medical history completely, and you are right, it is nasty being shuffled from one facility to another. I will be praying for your next trip to be the last and the issues to be dx and solved.

I am so glad to have you here in this forum.

Hugs to you and thanks for sharing your story.

Hi All, My name is Meg and I'm a moderator here the A/P site. I'm 30 eek 3 and have been living with anxiety all my life. I suffered from night terrors as a child and had my first full blown panic attack when I was 17....I still suffer from anxiety but I have learned a lot of coping skills and don't get panic attacks much anymore (phew!)

I stumbled across the HW site about?? four years ago and I LOVE it here. I am so blessed to have become a moderator and I adore being here and sharing and supporting with all of you. Thanks guys.

I live in Adelaide in Australia with my two beautiful burmese cats and my lovely guy. I love to read, surf, jog and eat vast amounts of cheese (hence the jogging).

I don't take anti-deps as they don't work for me (altho I have been on almost every med known to man). I take a little bit of valium as needed and a little bit of xanax when REALLY needed!

I am so happy to be hear and I love the chance to get to know a little bit more about all of you. Bless!

Hi I'm Aussie angel from Australia. I'm 39 married with 3 kids and currently looking for a part time job. I suffer major depression, OCD and anxiety disorder, my symptoms get worse hormonally and I get really upset and get really awful thoughts constantly through my head.

I'm currently on zoloft, epilim , clonazepam and zyprexa but may need to change one of them due to the monthly horrors.
