My doctor keeps telling me that Im healthy and im only suffering from stress. Heres my symptoms:

-Forceful hearbeat, I can hear my pulse in my head and also feel my chest beat. Sometimes I feel it in my back.
-"Dizziness", the best I can describe it is feeling slightly drunk. I feel this all day from the time I wake up to till the time I sleep.
-Nauseusness, I feel this sometimes.
-Short Of breath, even when im sitting down. And I feel so tired all day long.
-Muscle twitches and alot of "nerve" physical pain.

I have been feeling like this for like 6 months and he said he had never heard of anyone that has this symptoms go on like this for long. Im 26 and he said for such a young guy I shouldnt worry about cancer or heart attack/stroke.

I'd say it could be but it never hurts to get a second opinion. A few years ago I went to my family Dr twice complaining of chest pains that had been happening for months. He just plain out didn't know what was wrong and both times just told me to relax because I was too young for heart attacks. The third time I went I got lucky because my Dr was out and I had to see his replacement. The guy listened to me and asked me a few questions. He then had me get on the table, twist my back, and then he smacked me in the back. Instant relief. Come to find out I had fallen on some icy stairs a few months before that and popped my ribcage out of place so that one of my ribs was rubbing against my chest cavity. I was convinced I was having heart problems because everytime I would work in the yard or go on a walk it would hurt more. Very rarely have I ever gone into a Drs office and been completely diagnosed correctly the first time. From what I've seen it is exactly the same with anxiety. They seem to just try different therapys and medications until they find what works.

Hi firstone
As Coltsfan has suggested - getting a second opinion is a great idea - IMHO health professionals are sometimes too quick to pass off symptoms as being 'stress'.
A couple of questions spring to mind - Did the doctor prescribe any meds to help you thru this rough patch? And did they do any tests eg. blood tests, EKG etc? Finding out that these things are ok can go a long way towards setting our minds at ease and helping us along the road to felling better.
The symptoms you describe - I can relate to all of them as being part of anxiety eyes - I have found counselling to be of great help to me when I am going thru a bad patch as you describe - helped me develop new skills for coping :-)
I wish you well - keep us posted as to your progress.

Sounds like some of the symtoms of lyme disease.

I have lyme disease and I have the same symptoms. Not trying to make you panic, but it may be worth checking out on the lyme board

Hello, this is Kitt,

Youhave received excellent advise and I agree with all that has been said.  Sister J has a good point,  get that second opinion to be sure if you are doubting the dx.

Anxiety can cause just about any sx but so can other disorders.

Glad you posted and keep on posting as we have many members and everyone is so helpful.

Take care and hugs
Kitt

Thanks for all the replies... I have had blood tests and EKG. But it all came back alright. I try to excersice as much as I can, but im usually too tired and my short of breath stops me from being sort of active. I have always been active(by going to the gym 3-4 times a week) before this happens, so I still cant understand how this can be stress.

My doc gave me PAXIL 20 mg, I just started it like a week ago. I eat pretty healthy, the only thing I eat that wouldnt be considered healthy is ice cream, cookies, white rice and sometimes pizza.. but my regular diet is healthy.

Peacesoul - I will ask my doctor about lyme disease. To be honest, I am not "scared" to know what I have because I would rather know than not know. I was reading about lyme and I think I had a "dark" rash behind my leg before this started, my doctor said it was winter rash but it wasnt even winter.... the rash is not itchy no more though....

What I hate about all this is the dizziness and my forceful heartbeat. I can handle the pain because Im used to it.

Hello firstone,

Those signs and symptoms all sound a lot like the severe anxiety I suffered in my late teens early twenties.  I went from being an avid jogger, to not being able to walk to a bus stop because my body was so exhausted from the high levels of adrenaline rushing through it 24/7.  I am not a doc, so I won't diagnose you (promise).  You have had some great suggestions and I hope you can get some more tests done.  In the end for me, despite all the dymptoms of dizziness, nausea, pounding heart, exhaustion etc it was just anxiety (not that anxiety is nothing as you know).  I wish you all the best and hope that the Paxil helps you out some.

There is nothing wrong with pizza I tell you all! It has special healing powers! :-)

There is no point in asking your doc. He won't know enough about lyme to tell. The standard testing for lyme is called an ELisa test and it's not accurate.
Come over to the lyme board and get some info if you like

As far as this being anxiety, in my personal opinion, it sounds like more than anxiety. I've had horrible panic and anxiety my whole life and only got the symptoms you had when my immune system was compromised.
Not saying it's lyme or any other illness, but it would be worth checking out

Also, the symtoms you have relate to what's called candida or yeast in the body.
