So I'm about to embark in my over 8hr journey.  I don't know which to worry about more.....my anxiety or my recent eye surgery.  So my boyfriend and I are driving about 8 hours to NC and I'm so freaking nervous.  I've done this trip about 5 times.  Every year for the past 5 years so I should know I'll be fine.  I am bringing a laptop along and will be checking in here just so I can get the support of all you wonder*** people on here.  I am going to try and stay positive and not mess with my eyes.  Ok so here I go.  I am gonna try and take a vacation from my problems.  I definitely didn't pack them and I hope they don't sneak in the car.

Hey everyone.  thank you so much for your kind words and support.  The drive down was a little tough.  The first hour or two I was debating on whether to tell my boyfriend that i wanted to turn around and go back home.  Before I knew it he was falling asleep after only 2 hours of driving so i took over and drove for about 2 hours.  I was so proud of myself.  We stopped at got something to eat at the halfway mark and then the anxiety started to kick in.  I was wondering why I decided to come on this darn trip and I started worrying that i wasn't gonna make it the rest of the trip and if i did my anxiety will ruin my vacation.  I stopped myself from thinking that way.  I thought of all you guys and how I know we're all in this together.  So I told myself that if I didn't go through with this I would be letting the anxiety win and i'd be letting it control me.  So I took control and made it the rest of the way.  I'm glad to be here.  not worry free but i'm gonna try to relax.  I will definitely be updating you all as my trip continues.  Thanks again for all your support and I'm gonna go now and try and have some fun.

I'm doing good all. Just alittle anxiety yesterday. My eyes are buggin me today. But I know in the long run this surgery was worth it. I was really proud of myself yesterday. We went on our friends boat on a gorgeous lake and at one point I just leaned back and threw my hands up and just enjoyed the ride. I thought of my HW family. At the moment I felt so at peace and in the moment. I thought about how we all are suffering from this disease but there are those moments that make life worth it. Those moments give you the strength to keep on going. Even if its just a boost...sometimes you have to take what you can get. I definitely did open up my angelwings yesterday and imagined i was flying free from all this worry and anxiety. I hope everyone is well and getting through their own battles one day at a time. Sometimes you may have to take one hour at a time but I know you guys can do it. Thanks again for everyones support and kind words.

I am so happy for you...............you were flying and it felt so good didn't it.  No worries, nor fears only being in the moment of feeling peace and happiness.

You are a winner and I am sure there is gold in your wings.  Lots of hugs coming your way.

Hugs

Kitt

Angelwings,

You are an inspiration. I'm so glad you're handling the anxiety so well when it tries to sneak up. And I'm thrilled that you're having such a great time in general. Hurray!

Keeping those prayers and positive thoughts headed your way for a continued good trip,
percycat
