Dear Curt,

Welcome to HealingWell and please do give us a bit more detail so that we may help you.  Do you see a physician, on any meds or have any idea what is causing your anxiety.  If you have posted this already, I missed it so if you would just give it to us in a nutshell we will do our best to support you and maybe give you some better ideas to work with.

Again a warm welcome

Kitt

Hi Kit, and thanks for the welcome. I have bad ocd. It is ok when it is not acting up but when it gets rolling it takes a life of its own. I am in the military and a few weeks ago I got in some trouble( Iwas innocent), I have 30 straight days of 12 hour shifts with no days off. Only 14 more days. Plus, I lost a stripe which means less money. I fixed that situation and I am ok with it. But now the ocd and anxiety took over( I got into a habit of negetive thinking)Now i keep thinking I will never feel good again, I think about almost being 40 in 2 years and just little things that make me crazy with anxiety. I usually get over these things in 2 to  3 months. Seems like it always takes awhile for me to get free from this. I hope I become free again, I know it takes time. By the wayI take meds, 40 mg of Prozac and one ativan everyday

Curt,

I am sorry for your recent troubles. It is hard to live with OCD at the best of times but being accused of something at work, plus the long hours must be making things ten times harder. Have you ever tried any therapy for controlling the negative thoughts? It really helps me control my OCD a bit better. I truly hope things improve for you soon.

Curt,

I am sorry about your troubles too but glad you got it straightened out.

It feels to me like you know yourself well and realize that it will take some time to get past this current state of OCD.

I know that going over and over something in my mind after it's happened doesn't do any good. It just makes it worse. I can actually inflate an event after the fact and then it causes me more anxiety than the actual event did.

Please keep posting and know that we are here for you and you are now part of the A & P Family.

I can relate to the severe OCD believe me
I am so sorry you are going thru all of this
I totally agree I had to stop things from going thru my head over and over again as it made all worse
The CBT helped me thru that

My ocd isnt as bad as it was but I still have those days
As Kitt said you are now no longer alone
