I am normally over in the crohns forum, but I have been observing the situation.  This really has become a situation that I think both of you need to think about seeking professional help, both individually and together for intensive and also an extended period of time (this could even mean inpatient care or long term therapy, but there is no easy fix, it is something you have to work on and it can take years, but better to get it resolved now and not 10 years down the road). We can support what you are doing, but does not replace the work you two (both individually and together) need to do in therapy.

I strongly suggest you seek professional help and stick with it, both of you.

I am sorry if this sounds harsh, but this situation really is beyond the purview of this forum and out concern for you two, and your childrens' health and welfare, I suggest intensive and extended profession help.
Take Care,
Navy

Hi Jonathan. I certaily feel your pain. It's tough to have a partner who's not well. But tougher when you cannot understand their pain

Rachel needs some serious help. You cannot fix her issues and as much as i know you want to try, she needs to do it alone.
You are both so young and being a young married couple with a child is all that more confusing.

God does not make or break life, God puts the struggle in front of you to built character and strength. The world is imperfect and hard, so we need to face life head on.

Would you be willing to get some therapy on your own?

I really don't know what to say. Sorry I'm not more of a help, but I wanted to offer you support. Just stay strong and hold on. *hugs*

Jonathan, make your on profile so we will know your nick from Rachel.

I think coming here for support will help you. No one here thinks Rachel is a bad person/mother/wife. We all know and understand she is struggling with her illness.

I think individual therapy for both of you (make seperate appointments), and then together therapy (after awhile) is a good idea. Please call your local county health department and they more than likely can provide you will a contact for low cost therapy. Or else check out some of these sites and ask if they can help you:

Jonathan, there has to be Alanon meetings in your area. I know it's for the spouses of alcolholics, but they help many understand addictions.
They will NOT turn you away.

Hello Rachel,

I am very concerned as I read your post and now Jonthan's.  This is not a good idea to have the two of you posting under your name or even in the same forum.  We have had this situation before and it does not work.

The members are not comfortable in answering posts to both of you on the same subject on the same site knowing you are each talking about the other and your issues.

In your own best interest you and your husband need to go to couple's therapy or you need to seek professional help.   What you are asking here is beyond our realm.  We are not professionals and your continued posts indicated you need help.

The members have offered you much support and many good ideas, to the best of my knowlege we are not able to meet the needs I read in your post.

If you have any personal conversation you wish to have with me please email me.

For now I would like to encourage you to find the strength to go to therapy and work on getting well.

We support you and pray for you.  I personally hope that you can resolve your issues. God Bless.

Kitt

Rachel,

I can only reiterate what has already been said. You both need to get seperate help. I do not think it is a good idea that Jonathon comes onto this site. This is your support place not his. Please talk to him about your privacy needs. Please take care of yourself. I have sent you an email. Please take some hope and strength from that.

Bless,

Meg
