Just wanted to share,

I gave up caffeine two years ago, and I haven't had a coffee in ages, but last night I stayed up all night finishing an essay and decided I needed a bit of a jolt to get me through a 10 hour shift at work (I seemed to suffering from temporary amnesia as to why I actually gave up coffee in the first place!)..so I was waiting at the doors of my favourite cafe at six am, got my cappuccino (bliss) and toddled off to work like a happy bunny.

By 10am I had taken 15mg of valium to control the shakes and was experiencing some of the worst free floating anxiety I have had in years. The sense of impending doom was horrendous.  It's been 12 hours now since I had the coffee and I am still feeling shaky, nauseous and really anxious. shakehead

I know this will wear off, so it's okay, I just find it amazing that just one small change in my diet can have such a huge impact on my anxiety levels. It's quite scary really. Does anyone else have a food/drink that has this effect on them? I know that MSG (flavour enhancer 621) is deadly for me too..

Be careful what you eat my friends!!! skull

Coffee, in fact anything with caffine in, is a big no-no. Makes my anxiety much much worse and kick starts all my physical panic symptoms. I love coffee, so when I'm feeling calm and in control I walk that fine line. I know that I can't have more than one cup of coffee a day when I'm doing ok, and otherwise skip it. When my anxiety is bad even eating/ drinking chocolate can set me off!

Students live off coffee and I miss it. However, I subsitute with peppermint tea, which is also good for nausea.

Krystal Burgers, Chinese food, cream cheese and anything else my mother like to eat. I don't like cooking anymore either, not good to ask the dead mother what she wants on her burger besides cheese. Burn a lot of food that way.

Good Morning Megs,

Well you must have been wired for sure  smhair ...........now you are burning the candles at both ends.......I may have to come down there and see to it you get your rest. turn

No sleep and caffeine are not a good mix.  I drink caffeine soda products.   It is my only vice left as I have given up so much over the years to live a healthier life style. I am not a big coffee drinker but do like my sodas.

Hugs my friend

Kitt
