That was a close one today... after about 13 days on Clomipramine in total, and also about 6 days doubled up on it according to the doctor... I was having real bad side effects today. It was bad enough I couldn't urinate normally, was dizzy, shaky, and confused/mind blocked like I always am mind troubled/ocd but I just kept saying "this med should help it should help it's my only hope" ... but instead today I got up at 1:30pm, and I simply ran up the stairs and it was as if all the blood rushed to my head, making me nearly faint, and *I haven't been eating at all lately, lost about 20 lbs* I have an emergency appointment with my doctor tomorrow but he said to stop the Clomipramine immediately so that's nice... still on my Zoloft/Xanax of course... that's about it on that... Not a very good day for me, I'm also feeling very attention defecate lately... can't concentrate on one thing too long... and my Wii broke I'm sad, life sucks right now. -_-

Paulos... I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time. Yep , life sucks at times. ... but thankfully we have each other here at HW... we know we can make it through anything with the support of this family.

I'm concerned with your not eating... are you drinking enough. My daughter was on Clomipramine and would feel shaky and dizzy as you do... the issue of you not being able to urinate may only be because you are not hydrating enough. With any of these psychotropic drugs it is very, very important to drink lots and lots of liquids. Why aren't you eating...? are you nauseous from the meds. Have you tried snaking... eating a little bit every 2 hours or so...
Hopefully you will have a good appointment with your doctor tomorrow with good results. Write everything down so you don't forget to tell him anything.
Keeping you in my loving thoughts and prayers,
mary

Paulos,

I'm so glad you're getting in to see your doctor so quickly. Your symptoms sound very worrying, and I hope he'll help you come up with some tactics for stopping them.

I second Mary's advice: make sure you're getting plenty of liquids and try to eat something gentle on the stomach, especially if you've been fasting for a while.

Paulos,

I am sorry you have been having a bad time on this drug but very glad to hear you are going to see your physican today.

Don't run up stairs when your on these meds.  In fact sit up slow and give your body a chance to get used to your head higher then your feet.  I was having low blood pressure on one of my meds that had been doubled and like you it was about 5 days out and I was staggering and light headed.  I had to lay right down on the floor and call my husband to help me get back to bed. My Pdoc had me cut back the med to 1/2 what I was on.

Let us know how you do?  We all care for you here.

Hugs

Kitt

Paulos,

I'm concerned as well. What happened with your doctor? Why do you feel everything is falling apart? We will listen and try to help okay? Don't do anything without talking it through with a health professional. I know you are tough! Hang in there.

Hugs,

Meg
