Hi everyone.

I used to be a regular member here, and was a mod for a while, until I got consumed with graduate school and just couldn't keep up. So people from 2-3 years might recognize my name (esp you Lyn! :) ) Anyhow... much has gone on in my life and I am having another horrendous anxiety phase :( I am going to a therapist, and just got back on meds yesterday (effexor and klonopin).

Just coming here for the support I know this awesome forum provides as I try to deal with my anxiety, again.

:)

Hello Ali,

I remember you and of course Lyn will too.  I am sorry you are in the anxiety mode.  I hope working with your therapist will help you.

You know you can always come here for hugs and support.  We have lots of new members so hop right in and know you are at home with the HW family.

So good to see you here.
Hugs

Kitt

Thanks for the welcome Kitt and Lyn :)

Lyn I am so sorry about your dad, I hope you've been able to cope with that okay, you are such a strong lady. How is your daughter doing?

Anyways, as for me, I've just been dealing with a lot of stress pretty much over the past 3 years or so... and I've realized I'm someone who doesn't handle stress or transitions very well at all. First it was getting married, then it was going back to school which also meant going down to one income, then when I finally graduated after 2 tremendously stressful years, I was lucky enough to find a job right away, only to have my husband get laid off from his. Through school I just had to push through everything and never stopped to address the anxiety that was building up, and well with the recent layoff and I guess just my crappy biochemical make up, I am in freak out mode again.

However at least this time around I am better prepared to know how to handle things (i.e. getting on meds ASAP and seeing a therapist), and a lot of the physical symptoms that come along with anxiety do not freak me out like they did when this first came around 3 years ago. I am however having very bad health anxiety, and I hate it so much. Its starting to consume my life so I really hope that the meds plus therapy will put a stop to it. My therapist said she wants to do CBT as she thinks thats the best approach for me, so I sure hope it helps.

I'm just so tired of feeling this way, I want to be done with anxiety once and for all but I know that its a something that I'll likely have to deal with for all my life - the key is just managing it better than I have been.

Thanks all for the support :) I'm happy to be back with my HW family!
