I feel sometimes i'm just going out of my mind. I go into a store or even just at home and I feel that everything is closing in on me. I feel i'm shaking inside and that its going to tear me apart. I see someone in the store that reminds of someone from my past and I go nuts. I start to panic and I have an attack. I get myself so worked up that I just beat myself up and put myself down. i have so much to be thankful for. I'm getting married in Nov to the most wonderful guy I have ever met. But sometimes I feel i'm not worth anything to him. Or that I'm so wrong for him. I just don't know what to do. Am I going crazy or what..............

I know that stress is a huge part of any panic attacks. I too deal with feeling like my insides will just explode on some occassions. It isn't stirred by seeing someone, but mostly just everything going on in my life, which is alot. I have recently learned that I have acute jealousy over my husband. I diagnosed myself. :) Thinking of him being with another woman drives me insane. I can't stand that thought that he'd like her better. I find myself second guessing my looks and ability to make him happy. I have wanted to die on several occassions because I just don't know what else to do. I feel like I have hit bottom sometimes. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and I keep praying that His will be done and this will go aways. I was on anti depressants a few years ago and that helped ALOT. I am going back to the dr tomorrow to see about getting them again. Have you seen a physician?

I know how awful it can be to feel so out of control, but you are not going crazy!  Try to be more kind to yourself, don't beat yourself up over your attacks, or think that you are not good enough.  Do you see a therapist?  That has helped me alot to work through issues in my life and come to a more calm place.  Something else that really helped me was to read alot on the subject of anxiety.  My favorite books are by Claire Weekes, it's a good place to start to get an understanding of what's going on.  I hope you will continue to come here for support as well, this is a great place to be!

For all of you who have these kind on panic attacks, I have found ONE thing that is very very important, our neck muscle. Weak neck although you may not notice it will control you emotion, especially woman. For me I am looking for solution such as start eating a moderate amount of red meat, drink some high quality protein and amino acid, and do low impact exercise to avoid using neck muscle too much. I have found that the diet in todays world is imbalance, red meat must be eaten in small amount, may be 300 gram per week, and low impact exercise to calm you down and stop staring at the computer for too long.

Happyvel,

Welcome to HealingWell.  I am sorry to hear of your issues with panic attacks.  Could you try to let the thoughts into your mind and then let them flow right out again.  Stay in the moment, right now, what is happening to you.  Don't look behind and don't worry about the what ifs.

Try taking nice slow deep breaths and go out and take a walk if your at home.  Look around the grocery store and see the colors of the vegetable and fruits, just stay focused on the moment.

Do not put yourself down, make a list about all the good things you do. The world is a better place with you in it.

We do have a thread for new members to introduce themselves if you have not been there yet.

We love new members and you will find the members warm and caring.

Peace,
Kitt
