As you recall I started having really bad anticipatory anxiety earlier this year when I booked a trip for my husband and I to go see his sister in Guadalajara.  You helped me get thru it, and I ended up really having a really good time.  Well yesterday I booked another trip for next week.  And to top it off it was a spur of the moment decision because we found the tix were really cheap.  So this coming Friday we are leaving for a WEEK this time to go surprise hubby's sister.  I did get some initial anxiety and took my Xanax and everything calmed down.  I don't feel the least bit anxious today, only excited for the trip.

Just so proud of myself, that I am not letting this anxiety control my life.  Thanks for always being there for me(us) and helping me get over this anticipatory anxiety.  I am sure the therapy helped some too:)

I am refilling my rx for my Xanax just in case, but so far, so good.

Thanks again,
Gail *Nanners*

Yeah it took me a longtime to let go of it, it still is a work in progress, but at least I am learning to recognize it and stop it right away.

I think a day or two before we leave I will start taking the Xanax at least once a day just to keep myself calm, but once I get there and see all is well I will stop it again.

Hold my seat on that carpet ride, and when I get back I will keep a look out for the red "granny panties" anxiety beacon and join you all again.

Hugs,
Gail *Nanners*

Aw Nanners,

Good idea on the Xanax. You have a plan and you know you can do this and it is all because you refused to give up on your last trip.

Keep on flying..............it is a big world out there.

Congratulations , have the best time.

Hugs

Kitt

Nanners,

What fabulous news! I'm so proud and inspired by how you just jumped right in and said, "Yes, I can do this!" And you're being so smart about preparing yourself too.

Thanks for sharing the good news - success is always wonderful to hear about!

Gail that is awesome :) Have a great trip and a lot of fun :) Maybe you'll see us breeze by on the magic carpet :) You never know :) I really think it's cool you have taken back control of your life when it comes to the anticipatory anxiety and being able to seperate the feelings of excitement vs. anxiety. . . You should be so proud of yourself :) Bon voyage!!!
Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort :)

Wow Gail, you have really made a big step! I hope you enjoy your trip and I know your sister-in-law will be thrilled to see you! I know all too well how anticipatory anxiety works, I've got to work on it myself so I can move forward. I'm proud of you for making this "surprise" trip and I hope you'll tell us all about it when you come back.
