I've been having Lyme Disease induced panic attacks for 2 years now, since I started having Lyme symptoms. Lately they have been really disrupting my life and I am wondering if there are any naturopathtic or herbal remedies for them.

I'd like to avoid taking an anti depressant if possible, and I just had an adverse reaction to IV Ativan in the hospital. I had blurry, double vision, vomiting, and my heart rate went to 155.

If anyone can recommend anything, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Lusima,

The IV Ativan is just Ativan in liquid form that they gave to me in my IV. I had taken Ativan before, so the reaction was very scary. I would never take it again though.

The thing that scares me about anti depressants is that I can't have any alcohol, and I will admit, I love my wine.

ive used herbal remedies (bach rescue remedy, St John's wort etc) and i actually found them unhelpful. i stick with my tried and true antidepressants. thats just my situation.

Hey Bella....I hear ya on the PA's and Lyme ;-)

Yes, a natural remedie it CBT (cognative therapy), breathing and as a suppliment, you can try L Theanine, folic acid and Vit b complex (this mix works wonders for me)
Seeing that you have many fears from your lyme symptoms, I know CBT would work wonders for you.

Do not take Kava, it's not a safe suppliment. Also, Paxil or any other med should be a total last resort.
Lyme anxiety is not at all the same as everyday nervous tension anxiety. Our biotoxins create a lot of toxic liver effects which effects our endocrine responses.
I do recall being in the midst of my abx treatments and nothing was working, but when I uppsed the detoxing, my anxiety went down by about 80%.

Bella, you are always welcomed to email me for more info. I still struggle with the anxiety, so am a work in progress as well

hugs
Jen
