well in australia its sweltering hot, so big family dinner inside with the air con on, coins in the christmas pudding, whoever gets the coins gets good luck- im half Macedonian and we have a little toast that we do at the table, and we eat Macedonian food as well as traditional stuff. its cool to have some cultural traditions- and its nice to have the whole family together, as we have lost 3 family members in the last 3 yrs-

then the men go and watch the cricket on tv...... typical.... rolleyes

Hey guys,

This time of year I am the Christmas Princess which means I get to bestow special favors and gifts on others. I usually start on December 1 and some of the things I do is send out little notes to remind people I am thinking of them.  I join my daughter with get little gifts for St Nick Day.

I have a couple of online friends that live on very limited income and I will pick several and send them a gift of something just for them.  I love to surprise friends.

I talked to all my children and we all agree to help out the ones in need as we are warm and safe while many are sick and homeless.

I picked ornaments off the Christmas Tree at the Hope Lodge and yesterday went shopping to purchase the items they needed.  I chose plastic hangers for the guest rooms, throw blankets for the patients to have spread around the commons area as many cancer patients are cold. My favorite was buying bingo prizes for their weekly bingo night.

I also brought them a large glass candy jar and filled it full of our secret family recipe (M & Ms in green and red tossed with dry roasted peanuts)  They look cute in the glas jar. And you did not think I had talent.......... tongue

Christmas Eve to my MIL at 12 noon for all of my hubbies family and our children are there too.  Lots of food and love and prayers of thanks for another safe year.

Church is at 11:00 PM

Christmas morning brunch at my daughter's at 11:00 AM.  The presents are opened there and we have cut way back except for the 5 year old.  She loves presents. After brunch we play games and those are always thought up by the granddaughters.  When they were small they just wanted to put rubber binders all over my hair...............much easier then playing games. smhair

Our oldest and family call us on Christmas day and we get to talk to everyone.  Christmas night is reserved for just me and my hubby......................we need to take a nap......whew!

Boxing day is similar to our Black Friday shopping day. smhair

Happy Holidays to all.

We usually decorate right after all the Halloween stuff goes down, so all the Thanksgiving decorations sit with the Christmas ones for a few weeks, lol. The day of Thanksgiving, we turn on our lights for that day, and then every night (and dreary days) until December 12-13. Then they are all turned on until midnight on the 25th for the 12 days of Christmas :)

23 Christmas Party
24 Visit a few family and friends
25 Have Christmas dinner at home with at least 12 F/F with all the trimmings :)

Then the lights go off and get lit up on New Year's Eve, and then on my birthday January 20 :) Then I may take down the decorations in February :) lol I really do hate to see them go away :)

During this entire time we play games, watch movies, and just chill out as much as possible with each other. I wish all of you a Happy Christmas Season!!!
Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort :)

I love Christmas :-) I enjoy going into the stores and hearing the Christmas songs playing and looking at all of the festive Christmas decorations. I love driving around and seeing all of the pretty lights
on the houses and I miss them when they are taken down. And as
I grow older, I find myself looking back to Christmas when I was a child. I remember coming home after school to the wonderful scent of pine and how it would fill our house. Christmas Eve night, all of my dad's family came over and there was good food and presents for us children. Then, Dad would take me along with my aunt and two of my uncles to midnight mass at a stately old cathedral in St. Louis, MO
which was just across the river from where we lived. On Christmas morning, Santa had been there and my brother and I would play with our toys all morning. Then later that afternoon we would visit mother's side of the family and there were more presents and more good food and always lots of hugs and lots of love.

speak to us from a humble stable and an empty tomb."

Kitt, lol. . . With the costo and anxiety, I would leave all the stuff up to save me time and stress, but my family would hang me :) I have casually mentioned it, and they think I'm nuts (go figure:) Anyway, I did get them to agree to leave the led candlelights in the windows to be turned on for holidays :)

I'm a nut. . . Sorry ;)
Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort :)

The first christmas I remember was when I was 3 years old and my parents used small balloons as ornament. We had just moved out of the country and didn't have money to spend on real ornaments so we used balloons instead lol :)

I have made the kids use popsicle sticks to make reindeer and other ornaments which they would paint and use glittle on.

We had foour kids and this was when they were small. Clothes pins worked too.
