I went for my complete physical today. My cholesterol was 140 six months ago and today it was 170. I was quite shocked as I take meds for it.  The dr said cholesterol can fluctuate with the seasons and said not to worry. He said all my blood work was wonderful and come back in 6 months as usual.
My EKG was normal and all was ok.  He knows I am grieving my brothers loss and he was very compassionate.  He told me to start some exercising to help with the anxiety and fibro.  I dont know, it just seemed like a weird physical. My dr is great and he doesnt miss a beat.  He just said dont worry about a thing, grieve as necessary and Merry Christmas.  So, what am I worried about?  I dont know, I guess its just me.  The tears are streaming down my face, so I guess its just the loss of my brother and my anxiety.
I will close now, sorry for the rant. sad

Hi Tootie
No telling why today is especially hard for you.  The shorter days don't help those of us with depression, bipolar or anxiety.  It's cold here also which makes me sad.  The holidays are difficult for those who have recently lost loved ones.  Sounds like you're doing well considering all you've had to deal with.

And you came through the physical with flying colors!  So there's that to be grateful for.

Take care of yourself and let yourself grieve and find some good things in the holiday.  Your brother would not want you to be too sad for too long.

Hi Tootie,

It sure is nice to meet you. I said a prayer for you as I read your post. I've lost many close loved ones over the years also, and this season is hard. . . Especially with such a recent loss. I hope you can make a little peace in your heart and be able to enjoy the holidays some :) Listen to your doc. . . He sounds like a smart one, because it is best to grieve and cry to let out the excess emotion so it does not build up inside. Again, it's nice to meet you and you will be in my prayers :)
Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort :)

My heart goes out to you, Tootie! Poor thing....I send you a hug! Like someone else said, cry when you need to. It helps. Your brother is in a better place and it helps to know that (if only a little). Now, your doctor said cholesterol fluctuates with seasons? Hmmm. I've never heard of that but it makes sense. Some seasons we eat more healthy. Some we eat less food. Try not to worry. You've been through a lot!

Thanks everyone for your posts. Because I suffer from health anxiety I came home from the drs and googled cholesterol fluctuations during different seasons, and my Dr was RIGHT! It has a lot to do with exercise, not getting out a lot in the bad weather, etc. So that made me feel better. I NEVER had my cholesterol checked in Dec. Was always in the spring and fall. So he hold me I was late coming in for my annual physical so next year be on time. LOL. So I will go back in June and have it rechecked. I only take lipitor every other day and when I asked him if I should take it every day, he said NO and stop playing dr. So I will listen to him and stop worrying.
Its so nice to meet everyone on this forum. You have all been so wonderful and
kind. I look forward to meeting others. Thank you so much for your kind words
