Hello all.  I know I have another thread going, but I was curious as to whether or not anyone here has had anxiety/panic attacks ALL DAY.  I was wondering if I'm not alone in this, or if I have completely lost my mind.  I'm exhausted.....  Hopefully I'll sleep like a baby tonight, and have a better day tomorrow.  Thank you so much.  Blessings, Julie

Yes. . . I have that problem at times too. The best thing to do is keep your mind focused on the moment and keep doing something. If your mind is off of it, you won't feel the problem :)

Good luck to you! Hope you get some good rest :)

Thank you both so much! Sometimes it's comforting to know that you're not alone and others have experienced this too. I've had many counseling sessions, but it was years ago and not CBT. I thought I had my panic under control. It sure can sneek up on you! I am currently working on a website called MoodGym that was recommended here to me earlier. Blessings, Julie

MoodGYM is great Julie :) I think it being a free resource like this website is so nice for those that can not afford some of the expensive help out there. Thank God!

before i was officailly diagnosed and medicated, life was one long panic attack. i totally lived in fear- 24hrs a day of sheer panic. it was absolutely horrible.

I hope you feel better soon, are you taking any meds or doing therapy?

Maz, I have taken Paxil and Xanax for years with good success. I haven't had panic attacks like this in a very long time. I can only pray that it will only be isolated to this day.....

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations, and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think.

Not in a long time, but back in the "dark days" I'd have them near constantly for days at a time. The only way I could deal with it was to play Tony Hawk Pro Skater over and over and over and over. When I hear music from that video game on the radio I will almost cry, I swear to God.

It can be rough. Stick with it, though, and you'll get to a better place.

I would have anxiety that would make me sick for days. I have learned to recognize when it is starting and stop it with the help of my Xanax. I hope you took the time to take the med and help stop the panic. I send you big hugs!!!

I had anxiety lasting days and days, about 45 in fact.  Now I have a milder version once or twice a week but it's bearable.

Hi I too can totally relate to this! great thread has reassured me too as i have had anxiety and panic for years but my latest bout was unbearable as it would last for hours with only brief respite and carry on for days, it feels like you are losing yourself and petrified that you won t come back! I sooo thougt that i was going mad that even thougths i would normally have would freak me out and i would then think i was going mad...wat a viscious circle.
I am trying to adopt a 'so what' attitude instead of a 'what if', attitude.
Be reassured though that it does pass eventually, the anxiety gets tired and we must try to not fuel it so easily!!

warm wishes to you julie and all x

I'm so glad I read this thread. My doctor constantly tells me I cannot physically be having hours and hours long panic attacks, he just doesn't seem to believe that it is possible but it is!!!

My worst experience of this was my third day ever on an SSRI (citalopram at the time, I'm now on sertraline) Obviously day 3 was the day the start up SE's fully hit me and having never taken a med before it got waaaay out of control.

Basically I woke at 4am in a panic attack as if it had somehow started in my sleep. The worst panic attack of my life, I was drenched in sweat, my heart was pounding, I felt like my skin was crawling and wave upon wave of dread and panic. This basically lasted ALL day and into about 2am the next morning (i.e 22hrs straight through) I am convinced I didn't panic myself out of energy because I was buzzing off the new med. I nearly ended up in the ER that time, I'm amazed I didn't actually

I still get days like that now, they are unbearable
