I NEED to find a forum like this where people are always posting and reading and responding. I need to find one for domestic violence. Not because my current bf has done anything or ever would, but because of my ex. I just got word that he may be moving back into town and my anxiety is kicking into high gear. I'm very scared of him and I'm not sure what to do. I need to find a forum where people can advise me on that. I know there's PPOs you can get, but the thing is that I (stupidly) never called the cops, never went to the hospital. And he was always smart enough to do the things he did when it was just he and I around so I have no proof of anything so I don't think I can get one of those.

I can't even think straight. I feel sick to my stomach, like I'm about to cry and I just can't stop thinking about it. I'd love to tell my boyfriend but he knows what the ex did, and literally, my new boyfriend would kill my ex. Literally, I'm not joking.

If anybody can please help, it would really mean the world to me.

I would file a restraining order, so that he cannot get close to you. I would try to calm yourself some, I am sure that your ex is a big enough coward not to come anywhere near you since you have a new boyfriend. Most men that hit women are cowards, and based on your comment that he made sure he did it without anyone seeing, seems to prove to me that he is a coward. I don't know of any domestic violence boards, but you might want to look in your local yellow pages and see if you can locate some help there. Good luck!

I agree with Gail 100%. To me it would be the one solution to nip that anxiousness in the bud. If you are too distraught to find a local group/shelter, you can always call the police station or maybe a church. I sure hope things get better!

I lived with domestic violence for 12 years. He always said if I left, he'd find me. He knew where my family lived. I had a great job and he knew where I worked. So, I thought he would cause me to lose my job or mistreat my family. When I did leave, I never heard from him again. All his talk was for nothing. Maybe your ex isn't that way, but it's a possibility. There must be a 1-800 number to call for domestic violence. Try to remain calm. If he tries to make contact with you then I would notify the authorities or get a restraining order. I know what you're going through. Everything will be fine....

Hi Honey,

We are here to listen and support at HW. You have been given some great resources by our other members so I won't clog up the screen! Please take the steps you need to stay safe. If your ex makes one single wrong move, you need to contact the authorities. We can provide a safe place for you to talk and we can give tools on how to deal with anxiety, but we cannot help when he turns up on your doorstep with menace on his mind. Take it from a domestic violence survivor. This is serious stuff. Your safety is number one at all times. If you feel scared, or need help with finding the right head space to get help please email me okay? I have been through this and it messes with you if you don't take action.

I wish you safety and peace of mind.

Meg
