hi ben,

i love music, too. (i'm a bit obsessive, actually, and have been all of my life)i absolutely agree that music is a great healer/soother and is my #1 choice when i need something to pick me up. i don't know..i just find that listening to music helps me connect with the me that exists totally seperately from my a/p issues-does that make sense?

i don't have an actual i-pod, i'm afraid, but i can list the 5 songs i've had on repeat on my boring old rca mp3 player for the past few days yeah

1. black wave/bad vibrations-the arcade fire
2. arc of time (time code)-bright eyes
3. soul meets body-death cab for cutie
4. ceremony-new order
5. fuel-ani difranco

ok..can't narrow down to 5, so i'll do 10 lol

6. hands away-interpol
7. girlfriend in a coma-the smiths
8. i'm not crying-flight of the conchords
9. reckoner-radiohead
10. it's not up to you-bjork/sæglópur-sigur ros (tie)
love and hugs

bob marley and the cure! two more of my very favorites. disintegration got me through high school lol. i love live music, too, but unfortunately there's not much of that going on where i live. i can drive and hour and a half to hear good live music, but that's not always easy to do.

  3. Never is a promise- Fiona Apple
  4. Wish- The Cure
  5. Emotion Sickness- Silverchair
  6. Winter- Tori Amos

Hi All

Some great tunes i like all the ones put down. Here is an other question If you could pick one band to go and see live who would it be?

Mine would be Coldplay but if the rumer is true about pink floyd reforming this year then it would be them.

Maz you like your grunge music do you like The Pixies?

just one band?? jeesh, you don't make things easy ben. lol.

i have to cheat a little and say this:

out of the bands i haven't seen but really, really want to, i have to say sigur ros is #1. i've heard that their live shows are phenomenal.

out of the bands that i have seen, i have to pick radiohead. they are soooo good live.

now, if you take solo artists into consideration, there is absolutely nothing out their like a solo "unplugged" tori amos show. i mean..woah. that's the best word to describe it.

single artists that i haven't seen but want to? damien rice, definitely. (but maybe not so much anymore since lisa hannigan doesn't sing with him any longer)

sorry for cheating, but when it comes to music i really can't just pick one. :-D

I'm gonna save myself the trouble of only choosing 5 and just say anything by Queen or Van Halen.  I love lots of different music equally and could never narrow it down to just 5.  Right this day my favorite song is We are the Champion by Queen.
