I'm on Lex.  On a bad day, I feel like flipping out on my fiance even tho I love him to death and we have a beautiful 6 month old daughter...
but many days get like that from stress..
what can you do? I just take a breather and go off for a few hours somewhere... whether it be work or even Walmart...
shopping helps
even if you buy nothing.  It's just pent up aggression that helps by occupying your mind with the likes of shopping or crafts.   (I love crafts WAY over shopping tho.... obsessed with crafts)
Crafts aren't hard to get started with either! Walmart has all sorts of beginner programs for acrylics, oils, pastels and the like.
Have you asked the doc for a benzo like vallium or xanax or ativan?  That could help with the social anxiety.
You're not worthless!

We love you!

I too found Zoloft had horrible side effects and it took my body along time to get used to but 4 to 6 weeks and the bad side effects stopped and i stayed on it for along time..I found coming off it hard too. I am now on lexapro 20mg and I feel top off the world. As everyone here will tell u though nothing is the same for any of us when it comes to medication, we all have a personal story and journey of our own but the support and comfort we can get from this sight is something we all have in common. Hello, saddeyes, and welcome!

Have you been able to see a therapist regarding your feelings, as well as your physician? Talking with someone who's got a lot of professional knowledge and experience might help you to sort out what sounds like a confusing, frustrating, and upsetting situation. Knowing that you've got a "coach" on your side can let you get a better handle on those helpless, hopeless feelings, or at least that's been my experience with my therapist.

And do let your doctor know about these physical symptoms you're having. If they're side effects, s/he will know and be able to advise you.

I'm sure other members will be along soon. Remember, you are not alone.

I will, for the LIFE of me, never understand why a Dr would RX a med right off the bat because someone is having issues.
Was this dr a therapist? Did this dr recommed you see a therapist?

What you're going through is life stress that needs to be dealt with and talked about.
You are suffering from depression and need to get to the core of what's happening to you. Going from one medication to another is only masking the deeper issue.

You should really get into therapy and figure out with a qualified Dr what meds you need (if needed) and which form of therapy would work best.
What you're expiencing is called "life". It's not easy on most people and i totally feel for you.

True, some docs are quick to prescribe meds. There are often underlying issues, and like PeaceSoul mentioned, they need to be recognized and dealt with (if possible). I also agree with someone else's post about letting your doc know about your anger issues. Maybe a different med will be best.

Well I'm a pretty big believer in the meds. Yes I think therapy is also important, but for me they go hand in hand. For some people they can't have one without the other. Some people I think do well with just meds, or just therapy. But I don't look down on doctors who had out medications, some of us really need them and benefit. I fought for years without it, and I would be quite upset had my doctor turned me away without trying them.
