HI EVERYONE. TODAY I STARTED OFF HAVING A BETTER DAY. I TOOK A HALF OF XANAX AND WENT ON TO RUN MANY ERRANDS IN WHICH KEPT MY ANXIETY VERY ENTERTAINED. I'M STARTING TO FEEL A BIT ANTSY AGAIN. I HOPE I CAN KEEP IT CONTROLLED JUST A BIT. WHY IS THAT EVERY TIME THAT I NEED TO DO SOMETHING, THAT'S WHEN MY ANXIETY DECIDES TO KICK IN AT IT'S WORST... DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE AND HOW DO YOU COPE WITH IT? eyes

That is great you are having a better day, and I hope it stays that way for you:) I go through this everyday and I have to get up and clean (OCD:), exercise, or just walk around the farm :) If I'm not super antsy, I'll pick up a good book or watch a movie. . . And even just get on here to post and help other members along with myself :)

P.S. Sorry, don't mean to nag, but we have a HW rule about posting in ALL CAPS because it sometimes makes people feel like it is shouting :) It is okay on certain words to stress a situation or even better to use the italics :) It is also very hard to read in all caps imo :)

Take care now! I hope you can stay in the happy moment :)

Hello, sinsin305!

I'm glad you had a good start to the day. The frustration of feeling it slip is pretty common to many of us here.

I find that running errands and taking care of other tasks is a two-edged sword for me. Sometimes, doing those things really helps me distract myself from other stressors in my life, and it's a good thing. Other times, the "busy-ness" of the errands cranks up my anxiety, especially if I feel hurried and feel that other people are slowing me down. One thing my therapist and I talk about a lot now is not overloading. I try to put too many things on my to-do list, and that's a sure trigger for my anxiety.

I'm sure others will be along soon with their thoughts.

Thank you for replying to my post and the words of advice. Sometimes one persons positive thinking is enough to make a very bad day in to a well expected one for the other...

Let me join in and say I am glad your having a great day.  Enjoy the good times and accept them as blessings.  I can have a great day and fall apart later in the day or just the opposite.

It is the nature of the beast with this  disorder.  Keep up the good job.

If I have to be in a meeting, my anxiety hits the roof. I guess it's because I'm expected to be there. I can't walk out. I do relaxation techniques or take 1/2 an Ativan. Whatever it takes to get through a situation sometimes. It will get easier for you as you have more and more positive memories.
