I've had a headache now for about a week, when i first wake up in the morning... there is no pain at all, after i start my day my headache starts up and by the end of the day it's in full affect, i notice when i rest my eyes or close them the pain dulls down greatly. i been to the doctor for this today actually and she diagnosed me with a sinus infection, gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way. also my blood pressure was fairly high, it was 155 / 101, she wants me to come back next monday to talk about my BP and see if the pills she gave me worked. she said that normally that my bp wouldnt cause headaches. Something in my head tells me that a sinus infection is not what it is, due to the fact i have had no stuffy nose or any kind of cold as of recently.

The pain seems to be mostly in my forehead, mainly in my temples / right behind my eyes, every now and then the pain will trickle down the side of my head but not very much. i'm starting to think maybe i am having eyestrain headaches but i don't know for sure, i went and seen the eye doctor yesterday, my vision in my right eye is 20/20 and the vision in my left eye is 20/70.

I don't know what to do anymore, the pain isnt "Sharp" pain, more like a dull aching / throbbing pain with a fair bit of pressure. it's really starting to worry me, and more then anything its really starting to affect my way of life. No i havent had a MRI or a CT but im pondering to go into the ER to have this done as im typing this, or just to wait and see if the antibiotics i was given help. Just to toss it out there do any of these affects sound like a brain tumor or not? if anyone else if having symptoms like these or have had them please let me know what u did to stop them and what u were diagnosed with.

Thanks a lot for your time and patients reading this.

Dear Chadsd,

I think the headache you are having could be from eye strain. My brother and sister both have a genetic eye disease, (which I'm sure it not the case with you ) however, my sister did suffer similar headaches caused from the strain on her vision.

Just a thought,

Hi Chadsd,

Welcome to healingwell, I'm glad you've joined us. I'm certainly not a professional, but I do know that sinus infections can cause pretty nasty headaches, nausea and anxiety. You can suffer from sinus problems without having a blocked nose.  How long have you been on the anti-biotics? If you are still in pain and they don't appear to be working then it might be a good idea to go and see your doctor earlier.

It's very unlikely that you would have a brain tumor, it's most likely the sinus, so try and relax and don't worry overly okay? Again, welcome to HW.

Sorry you're in so much pain, but I think your dr may be right. I suffer with my sinuses a lot and I experience the same type of headche and eye problems that you are describing, but if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen or reading without sufficient lighting you could also be dealing with eye strain. More than likely its the sinus infection though because usually you feel a lot of pressure instead of sharp pains, isn't it weird that's its not even affecting your nose though.
I didn't know that sinus problems are connected with anxiety, I learn so much from this forum!

You may be experiencing a tension headache. I always get a headache when it's going to rain. I've had a headache for days, too. A dull, annoying headache. Anyway, try the medication and see how you feel! I would think anything serious would be causing a balance problem, fainting or dizziness with your headache. Try not to worry, it will make your head worse!

There's all sorts of things that can cause a headache... (Could be eyestrain, as some have said... or a tension headache)....

Once, I had a headache every day for... hmm... I think a couple of years. //@.@\\'... I had gotten used to it... and I didn't really think anything of it...

My headache was due to my eyes, though... My prescription glasses were too weak.. Got some that are stronger.... So now I can see... and now, I don't have headaches so much! AMAZING! :D
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Thanks for the welcomes! i went to the ER last night, they did a CT scan on me and said that all of my sinus cavities are filled with fluid, and it's putting pressure on my brain and that's why i've been having horrible headaches. He prescribed me with a different antibiotic and some pain killers for the headaches and said that it should take care of it!

thanks for your posts and concerns!

I am so glad you had the CT and found out what was causing the headache.  This is one of those times where it is was not safe to assume the headache was just stress.

Welcome to our Family and  I hope your soon feel like your old self.

Hey chadsd I recently had a sinus infection from Hades. No congestion, just horrible headaches. I was put on a really strong antibiotic and that really helped alot. I hope the meds start working soon and you are feeling better soon.
