HI everyone i have been going on this site to read posts and that made me feel better. It's good to know you're not the only one. I have severe anxiety problems. I use to get this when iwas about 14-15 years old and didn't have it this bad since then...bu ti think this time is worse. i am 19 now and went 4 full years feeling fine. Now i can't sleep. I feel depressed. I feel like i;m always in a dream. like my body has been separated from my mind. i feel like i'm going to pass out or blank out or something. sometimes i fear losing my mind. i know this is all part of the anxiety but is so severe i can hardly bear with it. Does anyone else feel as bad as i do? this stuff is haunting me every day. thanks.

Hi Frank,
I am sorry that you are suffering so.  I know that anxiety is not any fun at all.  I suffer with it too and there are times you feel like you are going to just black out from all of it.
Have you tried any calming breathing techniques?  Start by in through the nose, out through the mouth.  It is called smelling the roses and blowing out the candles.  When you breathe out, do so with pursed lips.  It slows your breathing down.
When I feel like I am going to black out, I raise my arms up above my head.  It gets the blood to flow back to your brain I think.  That is how it feels anyway.
I am sure that when it gets a little later, others will post here.  Ones that have had more experience with these things than I have.  I usually moderate depression forum.  I have suffered with anxiety though so I like to pop in here now and then.
Stay calm and relax.  when you do the breathing, do it from ten to twenty times.  I hope that this helped some.
Hugs, Karen

Hi Frank,

I am so sorry you feel this way, i am a new member just joined yesterday and i got really good advice here and today i feel a little better.
the thing that really helped me is something i read . when the scary thought that causes the attacks comes to you, dont try to ignore it, try to relax, observe it, watch it and let it move on in your mind As if you were observing a cloud passing overhead. Observe, Label, Watch, Move on. i have been practicing this in my mind each time i have a scary thought that cause me to have an anxiety attach and it make me feel better. i hope it will help you feel better real soon. you are not alone. welcome to HealingWell.
