Sorry I've been on a bit sporadically :)  It has been a hectic schedule and the website launched last night finally.  I hope everyone is doing well.  I am praying for both Lyn and Percy cause I have not heard from them in quite awhile.

I will do as much as I can.  Got to grasp the bull by the horns right now though :)

All,

Still too weak to be on the forum - I can barely keep up with what must happen at work. I had no idea that a drug allergy could have this effect. I miss you all, and will be back when I can!

Love,

I know how it goes :) I'm glad to see you back. . . I will still be on here to, but just wanted to give a reminder that spring is coming and I am going to be swamped, so if you see me writing and it's all short and dyslexic, that is me "sleep typing". . . :) Hope everyone is doing well. Megs, Percy & AK, if you read this know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. . .

Take care all!

Sam, remember that there are other Mods here to help out. If you are busy with things on the farm, we are not going to die if you are tired and go to bed instead of popping on here. Even with the few Mods that are out right now, there are still enough of us Mods here to pick up the slack. So don't kill yourself trying to take care of things at home and on the board too. JMHO

Good advice Nanners............Sam you get the chores done and make sure you eat healthy and get your rest.  You have a huge load on your shoulders.

I am usually around........probably to much on some days but  we will get it done.

I too will be cutting back some as 8-10 hours a day is overkill and I need to stop this.

The members are very capable of helping each other.

Big Sis,

I know you are feeling 100% right now but remember to take care of you as I want you to stay feeling well and healthy.

You know I support and care deeply for you and I am not worrying about you as I know you have it under control.........I am very proud of you.

Hugs to all
Kitt

Hello all... I noticed that it says "Also questions from Members to Mods..." I guess I feel kind of confused... Like some of you know, I regularly visit the Crohn's forum... Things run pretty smoothly over there... But... I'm not so sure about this forum.

I guess it is due, in part, because it is the Anxiety/Panic forum. Some people (I won't name names, and I don't want anyone to feel bad) seem very on edge (for understandable reasons, but still, I feel that since this is a forum for those who suffer from anxiety/panic, anyone who isn't spamming or flaming other posters should be dealt with delicately). I am pretty keen on the rules... but perhaps some of it is left up to interpretation.

Where exactly is the line drawn? That is what I want to ask. I mean... When does it get to the point that someone is being or sounding too selfish? When does it get to the point that someone has overstayed their welcome? And... What are circumstances that are considered... I guess... "post-worthy?"

I mean.... There are some people, I have noticed... who will come to this forum... Post their problem, reply to responses... and then, leave. Never to be seen again...

Then, there are people who come and wish to be a part of this community... Perhaps because they are lonely, perhaps because they wish to give advice to others and help them, or perhaps because they wish to share their experiences, in hopes that people will gain some sort of insight from it, perhaps to get advice for their trouble.

And of course... There are trouble-makers and spammers who show up every now and again, but they are promptly dealt with.

I just feel kind of sad and confused. Even a little anxious because I have a tendency towards being egotistic...

Again, I don't mean to offend anyone in any way or make them feel bad. I highly appreciate what all of you moderators do for this forum (and some of you doing double-duty with other forums). You have helped numerous people, including myself, and you have all worked hard despite facing tough challenges in your lives. I am only seeking some answers for understanding and peace of mind.
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Hi Celey,

I am not real sure on how to answer your question. If people are violating the rules is one reason they will be removed from the board. I don't want you to feel anxious at all, you are very supportive in both forums that I have seen you post in. I like you, speak my mind sometimes. Not because I want to hurt someone, but because sometimes tough love is called for. We are a peer support forum and we are here for everyone, but sometimes there are folks who try to take advantage of us. They don't respond to others, are continually posting their needs, but are never there for anyone else. We can't be enabling people here, that's not good for us or them. We give are thoughts, opinions, share experiences, offer help, but we can't do it all, we are NOT medical professionals, just regular folk like you living with a/p. The poster has to do their part too. Does that help explain things at all? If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hugs,

Celey,

Good questions.  You are right, this is a mental health disorder forum and things do not always run smooth as the sx and behaviors are individual for each person and the topics are many.  We deal with all types of anxiety disorders and there are many from  OCD to Health Anxiety. From GAD to Personality disorders.

I have the GERD forum and most of the posts are fine as everyone is about GERD. The emotions don't run as high.

Without breaking any confidentialities I can tell you that the moderators do discuss some of these posts in detail before  decisions are being made. Also when in doubt we do contact the administrator.

Perhaps one of the other mods can help explain it better.

The moderators of the A & P forum strive to keep the forum up and running as smoothly as we can, we try to keep the forum safe for all and  if problems arise we do not make decisions lightly.

Often some of  our mods are on line 8-10 hours a day and moderating other forums too.

I do not want you or any of our members to feel they are uncomfortable in A & P.  We want you to be comfortable and at ease.

Often it is just a case of  remembering we are all here because each of us has anxiety.  We never mean to do anyone any harm.

My eamil is open if you would like to email me.

Gentle Hugs and I am glad you spoke up.

Kitt

Please DO not feel uncomfortable
Every chance is given to take new ppl in and have them become part of this family

Yes there are some misunderstandings and then there are things the mods and long time members know and see constantly and report to us in turn we report to administrator

Everyone comes here for support and it is so freely given to all
In the interrim we do ask that support from others is given back as one big support group ya know
I hope I am making sense for you
I know you from crohns board and never have you had a problem
Please dont let this give you any more worry
If you do not want to read a certain post hit the ignore button and you wont
I hope this helps we DO value you here in a/p too
I am a co mod for 2 forums and a mod for another one
Any questions plz ask if you care too
Thanks for your honesty and posting this for us

Thank you for the responses... I appreciate all of you being reassuring... That is a big comfort. :)

Nanners, I believe you've explained things very well... What you said makes a lot of sense. I almost feel silly for not seeing it before....

Kitt, thanks for the insight regarding how decisions are made amongst moderators and such... It sounds like a very good system. :)

Lynn, I did not even realize there was an ignore button... I do not think I will have to use it, but thanks for pointing it out to me. :)

Celey,

I too am glad that we were able to explain  things to you.  the last thing we would want is people to feel they are not welcome or safe here.  My motto from day one as a Moderator is to do know harm and I continue to do my best.

You write insightful posts and are a great member of the A & P Family.

I am glad you spoke up. Gentle hugs to you.
