Hello my family!

I have been seeing that many are feeling anxious and down right now. . .  I thought it would be nice to share some of our hobbies here with each other, so maybe we can find some distractions from our darn disorder :)

Take care :)

Here are some ideas :)

1.  I have many houseplants that I take care of from my grandmother, and when I feel real antsy, I'll go around and do simple things like pull off the dead leaves and wipe the dust off of them, talk to them, etc.  It makes me feel really peaceful.

2.  One way to take you mind off of things is to catch up on some mending.  We save money every way we can, and one of these includes tons of clothing and other material repairs. . . And I really don't like to sew much, but a few hours of fixing things, and poking yourself with the needle will make you forget the anxiety, lol. . . Maybe quilting or making stuff would be cool?

3.  Scrapbooking. . . I will take time out every so often to piece together all of our "memory" stuff from around the house, like photographs, newspaper clippings, awards, theater tickets, travel stuff, etc.  I'm almost getting to the point of finding what I'm looking for, lol :)

4.  YouTube night. . . My grandma, friends/family, and I will sit down every so often and just find funny things on YouTube to laugh at and this is really fun.

Many things I do are really constructive hobbies that save me time and money, but there are so many more out there :)  So now it's your turn to give us some more ideas. . .

Much Love, Hugs, Peace & Comfort . . . Your Bro . . . Sam :)

Whoaaa  I am sadly lacking in hobbies.  I love music and do watch Youtube but I worked and raised my children for so long I never found a hobby............

I want to try to have a garden this year and Karen has offered to help give me pointers.

As I told her I do not have a green thumb so I will be using a green magic marker to color my thumb.

I love gardening too, so if you need more tips, I would be happy to help you Kitt or anyone else :)  I had to use the magic marker at first myself, lol. . . Once you get into it though, the love of the plants and earth is very intoxicating, and soon you will be a pro. . . I am actually thinking of doing my Master Gardener's license this year which would get me into more volunteer work with my local community.

I also like:

Woodworking

Carpentry

Organizing

Raising animals of all kinds and reading about them. . .

I just remembered that I like to cook, lol :)

Take a local cooking class or find some stuff on the computer to teach you how to prepare different meals from around the world. . . I love learning new recipies and making things that even my grandmother has never heard of :)

I think my hobby is my Husband!! Between work and all the other daily things, he is about all I have time for, plus I kinda like him:) I will say my newest hobby that anxiety ALMOST stole from me, is I like to travel, and have been trying very hard to learn more spanish. about 80% now in understanding it, would like to get to 80% speaking it. Close but not quite there yet. I love to read, but don't have as much time for it anymore.

Reading and writing are my two biggest hobbies... but I also enjoy playing games (board games, card games, VIDEO GAMES) and watching cartoons (if they're on there) on Youtube since I do not have cable...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Thanks Sam for this post.

My hobbies are reading and letting my son entertain me.  Sometimes I will scrapbook and I used to do the family geneology because i thought that was fun.  I tried gardening but I just couldn't stick with it.  I'm afraid I don't stick with things very well.  :/  Oh and watching tv and funny movies and I love to drive anywhere and everywhere. :-)

I like to read books alot. Sometimes I like to just get in my car and drive around by the water and just think but sometimes that's a bad thing to because then my anxiety gets to me. I get lucky sometimes.

Also, sometimes I play games with my kids...usually Monopoly or Life. If they are not into playing a game, I pull out the Xbox and play that for a little bit.

I enjoyed doing a lot of things before I was diagnosed with PAD. :( One of them is international travel. Visiting other countries...places. I used to travel every year before this da*n panic attack took control of my life. Grrr. Maybe gradually I will get used to it if I keep trying? I love cooking and gardening. I like drawing and coloring on my computer...I edit photos, too. I love watching movies and listening to music. I always have my ipod with me wherever I go. :) Oh and herbs! I love herbs. :)
