Hi Skysmommy: I am very new to this forum, but off the top I will say that distractions of any kind, even a game like you mentioned, has been helpful to me when I am suffering from anxiety. I know it's very difficult to change focus when your mind is reeling and going around and around on the things you are worried about, but it's good that your mom is there and doing something with you. Hang in there. I hope things get better for you tonight.

Hello I am new to the forums as well,

Thank you for your post, that kind of feeling is so common to me. You distract yourself with something happy but at the end of the day you are unable to get the worries out of your mind, at times it feels like a full time job just trying to keep the demons at bay. In any case I would suggest tackling any real problems head on, as soon as possible, within reason. Procrastination and not dealing with real problems always makes me anxiety worse, while acting responsibly and being productive seems to help. As for illogical problems that you can't fix, I would suggest trying to focus on the positive in your life and losing yourself in something the reminds you of the good in life. (I particularly like star-trek, or a good book for this)

Good luck, if you'd like to talk more you can email me anytime.
