Can someone please tell me if you have ever had these symptoms that I have with anxiety . Over the past three months I have had anxiety all day everyday ( even when I am trying to sleep ) which I did not think was normal. I have had anxiety in the past but never like this. I am extremely dizzy always feeling like I am going to pass out, itching, muscle tension, and palpitations. I went to my heart dr to rule out anything heart related. All those tests came back great so my family dr said that it is all from anxiety and upped my attivan from 1mg a day to 2 mgs a day. I still feel as if that is not working at all. I have four children one which just turned one year old and it is so difficult to take care of him. I hate being left home alone. When I am alone I feel much worse. I dont drive anymore and hardly go out in public. Have any of you ever felt like this? Have you ever had anxiety issues that last 24-7? Please give me some advice . I feel like anxiety is taking over my life.

Welcome to HealingWell and the A & P Forum.  I have anxiety but not 24/7.  I do sleep well but there was a time when my anxiety was much worse.  I have seen posts by others that experience anxiety 24/7 and I hope one will be along soon to talk with you.

Sincerely,
Kitt

I have anxiety non stop. Anxicalm is helping for the moment, but it is not a long term solution.

If your Meds are taking no effect, maybe a possibility of a change over? Did you point this out to your doctor?

I will tell the truth, it does feel like anxiety is taking over your life, especially when you experience the physical symptoms. This is what amplifies the "fear" and the "worry". And it does make looking after children difficult. It often happens around my own daughter. And when it does, I try to quickly come up with an activity to do with her, before my anxiety elevates into a full blown panic attack.

Did you ever get diagnosed for a chemical imbalance of serotonin? Usually this type of chemical imbalance can fluctuate at certain periods in your life, making you experience what you are currently in.

Hello & Welcome!

I think many of us have felt these symptoms before and it can be fixed through CBT and Relaxation/Breathing Exercises. If you check at the top of our forum page under the Anxiety-Panic Resources you will find several links to free CBT (MoodGYM) & much more. I hope you get to feeling better and realize that you are not the only one going through this. Now that you have found us you will start getting the peer support that you need.

I'll look forward to seeing more posts from you!

Hi and welcome to HW.  I have had every single one of the syptoms you have mentioned, and have in the past experienced anxiety 24-7.  I believe that all of this is "normal" for anxiety disorder.  I've been in a very bad place with the anxiety, many, many times, but have always come back through it.  It's definitely not easy, especially when you have children and a fear of being home alone (I've dealt with both of those too), but you are okay, anxiety cannot hurt you and as Green Grove mentioned, CBT is a wonderful help.  Are you in therapy as well?  That helped me alot.  Hope you will hang in here and keep posting!

Welcome. I just thought I would stop by and offer my two cents. I, too, have experienced anxiety but it wasn't 24/7. Mine was just every single night. It still is for the most part just not as bad or as long as it was lasting. I had the exact same symptoms as you and the thoughts of having a heart attack and dying. Let me say this. You are not going to die from anxiety. I was just in the ER a couple of nights ago and insisted that they run some heart tests on me to make sure that my heart was fine. Everything came back okay. They said that my heart was wonderful. I told them that I didn't think that my heart was wonderful from the way it felt. It felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. So anyways, I just wanted to add also that you are not alone. A lot of us here are in the same boat and we are here for you if you need somewhere to go. Keep us informed of your progress.
