I was hoping I would not have to come back to this part of the forum as I had been doing well for a long time until the past 3 weeks. I have had problems for over a month now with sinuses and allergies, have had problems with a recurrent UTI which has not responded to two rounds of antibiotics. One round of antibiotics I had a allergic reaction to with a rash that was two days of torture because of intense itching, this drug made my hands fall heavily asleep and many nights I woke up with my hands so heavy from being asleep it freaked me out. I was switched to another antibiotic and read where it causes tendon rupture so I quit taking it after 17 pills. I have been so stressed my entire upper body hurts where my neck and arms are concerned. I wake up tensed up also. I had a tick removed from my neck 3 weeks ago and had a sudden headache along with unexplained fever all of a sudden come up. I had blood work done and was negative for lyme and was told my blood work was normal, however, when seeing the doctor last week for a followup I was told that every part of it was normal but my liver enzymes and that they were slightly elevated. Now I'm freaking as they did more blood work to check my liver enzymes again. I am even being checked for diabetes and hepatitis. I am on a medication daily for ulcerative colitis and that medication can cause elevated liver enzyme levels as well as the one antibiotic I had a reaction to. I just needed to get this off of my chest as this has really made my nerves bad. Thanks.

Hi At wits end,

I am so happy that you feel better when you post here and I hope that it helped this time. It sounds like you have been through a lot of stress worrying about lymes disease. I am glad that it was negative for lymes.

There really is something good to say about posting on this forum. Everybody is so supportive. I would recommend that you try deep breathing and muscle relaxation since you are carrying a lot of tension in your shoulders, that will cause severe headaches and other complications.

I hope that you feel better soon. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Wit's End,

I've had a lot of allergic reactions to antibiotics over the years, and I do understand how the side effects can really ramp up the anxiety. It's good that you're keeping up with bloodwork and doc appointments, and I hope that your doc will be able to help you with the nervousness and stress, too. It's good that you posted here and vented your worries......I always find it helps to put things down, too. I really liked Karen's suggestion about deep breathing and muscle relaxation.....I think that's definitely worth a try! I hope so much that you'll be feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear your having these problems.

Muscle tension, especially in the neck and shoulder area, can be painful.   I would look online for relaxation techniques for these parts of the body.  When taking a shower, let the hot water run down your neck and shoulders and it should help relieve some of the pressure.

Good Luck with finding the right antibiotic and the rest of your bloodwork.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I was so longwinded. I have had sleep issues for years, never a night that I don't wake up during the night, I am on Lexapro 10mg and I am sure that makes one feel really groggy all the time like I do, and I am on a antihistamine daily for allergies and I am sure that ties in with the weird feelings also. I am 49 and have not had my monthly since early January and I am sure that ties in with the fatigue and sleep problems also as I am sure I am going through the change, have had problems for a while with hot flashes, being flushed, night sweats, etc.! Too much going on at one time. At least the Lexapro makes me have this I don't care feeling. Since it is warming up I feel some form of exercise like walking and tennis will help me. And Sunshine1108, the shower technique does help, I need to do that more often.
