Hi SJB,

Welcome to our group. I hope you will feel comfortable to come back and post here with us again.

I'm concerned by the part of your post ..., and want to strongly encourage you to call a crisis hotline or go to the hospital if you feel that you may do something , or if these "dark thoughts" you talk about continue. Anxiety and depression are tough to handle for all of us, and there are times when we need help. This may be one of those times for you.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing. We care about you.

Hello, SJB, and welcome! You've come to the right place for support, and to get comforting advice from others who've been through the same thing.

The important thing is that you are feeling at the end of your rope, and I think Raniah's advice is very good-- that if you just can't cope or keep having these really dark thoughts, a crisis hotline or hospital will be able to help you fastest and best.

The combination of anxiety and depression is really miserable. You worry and agonize, and that brings you down, makes you feel worthless, lethargic, and yet makes you worry more because you know you don't want to be like that.

Do you take any medications for either of those things, or are you able to see a counselor? Many of us on here have had some success from one or both of those helps. I know my depression would not have gotten under control without medication, and for my anxiety, counseling works for better for me.

I hope you'll check out our resources and see if any sound useful to you. You can ask questions or just get a electronic hug and "I understand how you're feeling" from all of our great members.

Do hang in there, and keep posting so that we can get to know you better. Remember, you are not alone here.

PS - I had to edit your post and Raniah's reply just a tad, according to one of our forum rules, but no worries about that.

Trust me !!! I have been there..... i have dealt with severe anxiety disorder, obsessive thoughts and worry, and depressions . To the point were it seems to take control of your whole day, then your whole week. ..And i also got very bad thoughts , such as death and so on........But when it got so bad , I rushed to the emergency room. They admitted me for about a week. Which was good. my doctor prescribed my 25mg xanex. ( which i only take , when things get very very bad, But what i have been taking on a daily basis is a natural herbal remedy called Valerian root extract. I take one in the morning and one right before i go to sleep. It helps me ALOT. Trust me things will get better! Pray PRAY pray.... And keep busy, extra busy when you are having A bad day... go out doors, and do something you enjoy.... God Bless You... :-)

Hi there!

Try your best to calm down and take some slow deep breaths.  This is a wonderful forum and people here are very kind and understanding.  You have come to the right place for support.

Anxiety and depression can stick in our heads.  Your not alone.  There is help.  If you feel it is too much to handle, I would go to the ER and they can help you immediately!

I hope you come back and let us know how you are.

Take care,
Mary

Hi, SJB!

I'm so glad you're feeling better! You've got a plan for help all set up and ready to begin. Do continue thinking those good thoughts, and if you feel a little wobbly between now and Tuesday, tell yourself "I am strong enough to face it for tomorrow." And then on tomorrow, tell yourself that you can do it for the next day. Finally, the day of help arrives, and you've made it.

I hope you continue to feel more relaxed, knowing that you've taken *all* the right steps to move in the direction you want. You definitely deserve to feel happy and content, and you'll get there step by step.

Keep us posted! It's nice having you on the forum.
